Putting a higher volume to the test this week.

Hey everyone, well, I went crazy ( for me anyways) and ordered 28 boxes of halves this week to search, first 8 come in tomorrow, 4 more Wed, 2 more Thursday, and 14 on Friday! If everything gets ordered and sent, this will be my biggest search ever, and most likely my last big search, this will consume a lot of time, miles and gas which I could never do everyweek. So, I will post on this thread through the week to show what I find and how many skunks I get, I'm not very optimistic about it, I think it will be more of a thread about my skunks than anything else, we'll see. If the newer people or those that think CRHing will make you rich, I will most likely show you that it won't, and that I spent more time and gas than it was worth, but this a hobby for me ( not this week, it's work) and the thrill of the hunt that keeps me going, not thinking I'm going to make money right now. I will probably not post a bunch of pics as it will be just too time consuming, but I will keep you updated with as much info as I can. Wish me luck guys! HH, Maverick.

The Walker with gold plating is nice! I found one like that on Oct. 18, 2012 in a Brinks box. It's a 1934 (not 1942), and yours looks better.

Hey guys, ( for those following me through this week) today has turned into one of "those days", so I"m behind here a bit, decided to do our taxes today which threw everything out of wack, so I have only gone through 2 boxes, nothing but 2 proofs (71&73) that were in the same roll, weird, anyway, I'll search the other 2 a little later when everyone is a sleep and update you. Oh, I also missed out on a $500.00 bill that someguy was trying to deposit in his account at my pickup bank, well I wasn't there but, they wouldn't accept it for deposit because it was out of circulation. Anyway, my cool teller said he still had it and wasn't too sure what he was going to do with it, I told her if he came back ( because she toild him she probably knew someone who would cash it for him) that I would definetly buy it! She said he had called her the day before and said he still had it. So I don't know whats going to happen with that, she has my number now to give him. Allright, I'll check in later. Maverick.

Plating, post mint. People take worn Walkers, polish them, and add some gold and sell it trying to make a bunch of money off gullible people (kinda like the people who buy the 'As seen on TV' crap).

I bought a 500 dollar bill back around 1990 in good shape for 30 from a LCS. When we moved back to Jersey, the first year things got tight in the winter and I had to cash it at a Pathmark to buy food for my family. I hope you are able to get it they are a neat looking bill. OK, finished the other 2 late last night and fell asleep so here's the results, 4 skunks! Some picks of the search and what I'm going to dump today at 4 banks, I get 2 more boxes this afternoon to search. I don't know guys, so far I think I have def proven that there is no getting rich qwik huh. Hopefully the newer folks who might think they are going to make money or be ahead are seeing that that just isn't the case.

Total miles driven so far is 132, and countless hours pickingup, searching, and dumping, I have lost money so far this week! I 'll update about the other 2 boxes I'm getting this afternoon later today, I hope there is something in them. HH, Maverick.

LMAO! I know right? uuhhh, this week is really sucking! I might have 6 total boxes today coming in, I forgot about 4 others I ordered that maybe in when I go dumping this morning, today is going to rack up the miles for sure.

Just to update on my comment about my higher volume this week. I got a total of five boxes of halves from two banks and one box of dimes from another bank. One of those boxes of halves was a bonus box from a pickup...as a consolation for them not being able to order boxes for me anymore. Kinda disappointing, because that bank was very promising at one point until the vault manager left, they botched two straight orders, and now stopped ordering entirely. The results - dimes: skunk, three boxes of halves: one rough clad proof. Two boxes of halves remain, plus another four on Saturday.

I think 4 skunks from Brinks is pretty common. If you read my CRH log, most of my boxes are skunks, but I average 2 silvers per box because the ones that aren't usually are very good. However, last week I did 16 boxes and only found 10 silvers.

Another phenomenon I have been experiencing is that Brinks is now shorting rolls. I lost $2.50 yesterday to short rolls. There were probably 5 rolls with $10.50 each and 10 rolls with $9.50 each. They just started doing this last week.

Yup, same thing here, I haven't added that in yet, but I'm having the same damn thing! Last night I had to add 4 halves to the box for short rolls, this is a first for me from Brinks, they must be still adjusting the machine maybe, or miss adjusted it when they set it to cull Silver out, lol. I just stopped in for a min to let my dogs out. I dumped the 8 boxes allready and am going to get my son from school now and pick up the last 2 boxes for today. I just found out that I will be 4 boxes short for tomorrows hunt when I was out today, "oh, I should have called you I guess, your boxes won't be here till Tuesday". Ya, no problem, I love driving 50 miles to pick up boxes that aren't here. So tomorrow looks like it will be 10 boxes now, not the 14 I was supossed to have.

Well, this was it, 1 box had the Painted half and that was it, the other box had the proofs (both 1980) and the 4 40's, eh, I don't even know what to say, I know I know, I got 4 40's, but I drove 135 miles today too at $4.00 a gallon ='s thats 9 gallons which is $36 dollars in gas. Well, lets see what tomorrow brings, these banks are closer tomorrow and I'm only doing one bag drop of 1000 tomorrow since the other 4 boxes got switched to Tuesday, so, hopefully less stress and driving tomorrow, AND MORE SILVER, wishfull thinking. So, 10 boxes instead of 14 tomorrow. Good luck to you guys too! HH, Maverick.
