A man came to my house about a year ago. Had a computer and a few other gadgets. Said he found some gold on my land using a satellite and his computer. He wanted to dig. I declined. He told me where it was, so a few months ago I hired a back hole and dug and dug and dug,,,nothing at all. My question have any of you heard of using a satellite and computer to find gold and silver ?

I went to Marlow High School! That's awesome to be able to detect in that area! That sounds like an amazing journey indeed!

My grandma still lives in Duncan. I can't wait to go up there around Christmas and check out some places to detect. Please keep me posted if you find something awesome, especially if it's related to the Marlow brothers. I still consider myself an Outlaw!

Id like to see some of the arrowheads you have found. I know I use google earth to detect certain levels of the ground in order to find Indian artifacts. Maybe he used it to locate a small mound of sorts and was hoping there would be gold buried there. He probably didnt tell you the same spot he thought it might be located just in case you said no. I know I dont give away any spots for the same reason.
Post some of your Indian artifacts in the forum for arrowheads. We can tell you the age of them and maybe give you a clue as to what other type of artifacts you might find on your property. Good Luck, rock

I will chime in with a little information of where you can find Placier Gold where you never would have thought to look! During the end of the Ice Age when Glaciers moved from the far reaches of North America, carving out valleys on their way to the Gulf of Mexico, they dredged up a lot of Gold on their travels and deposited quite a bit more Gold than you might think in a lot of those same valleys that they carved out. In these valleys, you can sometimes dig down 3 feet and find a litle bit of Gold but at 5 to 10 feet or more, you will likely find quite a bit more. So, just because you live in a big valley with beautiful scenery where nothing exciting happens 99 percent of the year, doesn't mean it has to stay this way! See what excitement you can have by digging in your' front or back yard (back yard preferrably so the neighbors won't think you are crazy and find out that you have Gold on your' property) and panning some flakes of that beautiful yellow stuff out!
