Wow.....I have a saw mill operation......ive been gone so long I forgot about the boys back home running the mill !! No slabs were cut while I was gone ,but they have been busy careing for and acquiring stock, tuning, sharpening, and organizing our equipment. All 7 of our giant logs have been put on some better dunnage and completely buckskinned of there bark. One is leveled and ready to be topcut. All our stock is trimmed and the end grains have fresh paraffin wax on them and its all cureing perfectly !! The whole log lot is cleaned up and the grass is cut and we are completely shaded in the first lush green canopy since hurricane irma !! Its gourgeous on the log lot !! We have mango, banana, pineapple, tamrind, papaya, coconut, and carambola/starfruit. Flowers include royal Poinciana, hibiscus, night blooming jasmine, roses, bromiliads, orchids, and bougainvillea and im sure I forgot some !! All our cut stock is european stacked and stickered under tents out of the elements. I sat up there at sunset and had a few rums, and it was so beautiful !! I was in awe of all that we have acomplished and created in the last year and a half. I have great friends and partners in this adventure, and its great to be home and back with my bros !! Time to cut wood !! It really wierd but when the hurricane struck it stripped the foliage from the jungle, and then it was fall winter and some trees go dormant. Other trees loose foliage. Now its full summer and we are lush and green, and everything is in full bloom. The hard wood hammocks and jungles have fully recovered and the lord has blessed us with a bounty of fruit , flowers, and shade !!!
