If this forum were for selling finds and the post was about selling this new find, then I would agree that questioning may be proper. That's not really the case though. This rule seems to be for the forum posts announcing finds which is strictly for pleasure purposes. It really doesn't matter whether a find is real or not, whether known or not. I am certain the forum mods just want everyone's experience here to be friendly and about having fun enjoying our sport and not about accusations and drama which would spoil the atmosphere.
My two cents.

I hate to argue with ya, but in the end it DOES matter if a find is real or not, for one thing, think about it, while you are reading about those finds, you are learning about who found it and how, you get to learn if what you found is worth hanging onto, you find yourself wondering who had used that object in the past, or what kind of people they might have been!

And yes it matters because people like to hear the truth, I myself have no qualms on asking for more pics, or whether an object is real, cause I get to learn more! In the end, it's fun to find all kinds of stuff, it's just some of us here are tired of the people who come in bragging about this awesome find, and how much it cost, and come to find out it was all just a story!

Just my 2 cents worth!
