Take that red piece in and have it assayed.
May have some arsenopyrites.

I like the rough hewn lumber it shows the age is old. I'm surprised it's still standing. But it looks like a cow barn, ops, just another clue....

After thought. A real easy way to date it is by a close up of the barbed wire.

i was at superstition museum to look for that type of barbed wire, but there were a hundred types and for me all looked same. :) i dont think that it have anything to do with the legend. i just saw it on google and wanted to know what it is. in the near is a second construction of this. if anybody wants to check it just ask and i will give you the coordinations. maybe nothing worthwhile but im sure a wonderful hike ;) many cactuses show you the way.

Bill, ugh, you brought back bad memories. One of the mills that I ran had ore that ran high vaules of Gold, but also ran 33% As. My assay lab and furnance were coated Yellow, sheeesh. As sual I was careless and came down with As poisi9ning. A trip to the hospital revealed that they didn;t have a treament on hand, they had to go to the states ffor some Lewesite. I begged off when I found what the reccomended treatment was and instead resorted to Massive doses of Vit "C", which is a tremendous Chealating agent on all heavy metal ,-- this from studies in the 30's.-- and managed to cure my self. Man you talk about saliva drooling.and a sore tummy

Garlic for Lead , and Hello to All

next day i checked another spot and found on the ground something that looked like a door 10x6 ft. on this door was an arrow that showed onto a wall with a line carved. next to it was a cactus. the head was cut and a "sphinx" :) . does anybody know what the black around that "door" is?

Black line, may I suggest a small spring that is heavily laden with minerels that is exiting from the upper left, then coursing to the upper right, then finally joining the basic arroyo at the bottom.

:coffee2::coffee2: join me ???

yes you are right. it came from the upper left side from a wall, but it was around the door. upside of the wall where it came from was an eye. on my first pic from the statue you cant see how alone it was ;) is it possible that it was anything for fire? to show the way? you can see on the pic from the "door" on the upper right side that there lay little stones to hold the way.

Like Dave said, quartz doesn't necessarily mean much. If you walk from the Circle U Ranch to Peralta Trailhead, you can fill a pickup truck with worthless quartz.

Another thing to look for since we are talking about Iron Staining, is Iron Ore. One thing that miners have known since Medieval Times is a thing called an "Iron Cap" (also known as Gossan). Spanish were masters at working these deposits. Layers of solid Iron Ore can many times sit on top of rich gold deposits.

Garlic for Lead , and Hello to All

That's some pretty heavy spagetti you're eating there buddy!

Having any of that toasted garlic lead with your spagetti?

At least those vampire bats from that cave won't go near you!

Good thing is it'll keep those blood sucking dutch hunters away!

I'm pretty good at seeing the unseen. But, in this case I would ask you circle or trace the things you're showing us. If you don't have it Gimp is a free program on the web and it's just like photoshop.

I do see something I've never seen before. A Turtle standing on it's hind legs. Look to where the turtle is looking for an open sky hole and a walkers foot abstract monument. Go the direction of the foot. Right or Left Foot. Look for hand monuments.

Great photo's Blackline!

PS: The ore you're showing looks to be some free milling type of red stained quartz. Nice samples.

yes i have photoshop but most time i use the ipad. its faster ;) next time i will try it. the "turtel" see on that wall. it looked like an entrance. i wish i could check it again, but remeber im a german. next year maybe. i think it is from the jesuits. now im home and have so many questions and you guys have all the knowledge. im very happy to get some answers. thx

Blackline, Here's an example. You can see the door you're talking about in the GE photo. The vein cut goes up the hill on the left. Simple De RE Metallica trenching. The old trail leads to a square shaped boulder right under the door symbol. Move the rock covering the entrance to the mine with mirco-blasting. If you need help let me know. I can see hand and foot monuments in the photo's you present.

Just kidding, nice pictures Blackline, thanks for sharing.

Gentlemen:

For you review.

Tucson Artifacts Suggest Romans Made It to New World in 8th Century: Expert

As this unfolds I would invite folks to consider the impact of a mining colony in Arizona. Why they were here, and possible sites in the Superstitions that would attract their attention.

A good place to start would be a certain canyon that was identified by Bernice McGee and certain comments made in the Bent /Mcgee correspondence.

Apologize for sidetracking this discussion.

One last "person Story" about the Supes. My brother and I stopped at the ranch there on the Southern end and talked with the then foreman of the ranch. We were talking about "stupid" and the Supes and he told us this story.
He, his wife and son were packing into the Supes for a weeks vacation at a spring he knew of that he had verified as still wet. 8 miles from the trailhead they came up on a man sitting on a rock next to the trail. He was wearing shorts, T-Shirt and tennis shoes.
" Are you OK?"
"I twisted my knee and I'm waiting for the park rangers to come by."
"This is National Forest not Park, the Rangers don't come here but once a month, maybe." "Do you have any water?"
"No."
They gave him water to drink and asked if he wanted to go with them as they had enough food for an extra mouth.
"No, I'll wait here".
"Do you have any matches or a cigarette lighter?"
"No, I don't smoke, why?"
"Well, it is going to drop about 50 degrees tonight and you will need a fire."
They gave him a book of matches and then asked him for a name and phone number of someone to contact.
"Why?"
"So when we come out in a week we can tell someone the last place we saw you alive."
As he looked back the guy was hobbling down the trail towards the trail head.
Some people think it is OK to go out into the scrub Desert without anything for keeping them alive. They are called statistics. IMO

not from the 19th century was the tank at the first day. i didnt want to get a closer look. why i attributed it (second day) to the jesuits? i could tell it, but then everybody will find it :)

Blackline, may I comend you on your excellent comand of English. wish that I spoke German as well. MIne is high school German in which I spent most of my time in the front row eyeing the very pretty young teacher who was addicted to mini skirts and perching on top of her desk = learned about female anatomy to a limited extent, but not ''german well
:coffee2::coffee2:

My appologies Bill, but that is not a cave, but a play on shadows.

No appology required. No cave, you're right, I never said it was. Just a back filled trench with a shadow tale in the end for that shadey boulder Brunch.

EarieP,

I never realized you had such dark humor....be careful though, the untyped wording may get you in deep with the moderators all that mental cussing and references to..well..only you know what! I do resent those remarks at least those in that nasty untyped quotation!

For future reference I go through many periods...................................of self-immolation while hiking in the desert.
Either by burning up in the desert heat or being pushed off a cliff...I always survive it with mental scars...I'm going down in flames right now in this conversation so I'd better bail out while I still have me MoJo!

Thanks for telling me I'm a ....... ....... I deserved that!

You're the best ... .... ..... I've ever seen!

For future reference next time show some non-posted jpeg's to go with your response so others on here can all get a clearer mental picture.

Have a great day .......!

Oh, by the way, you'd better "... off .... .... ..... or you're gonna ... .. ........"

..... ... ... ...... ... ... .. . .... . .....!

Just .......!

Don't think I'm an ....... for posting ....!

Never mind, I don't even know what I just thought I said...

Blackline, while you're over there, before your country becomes an Islamic nation and destroys all your German history, maybe you could look up old Jacobs family and find some historic information about the gold ore he sent to his family in your country?

Also, I'm doing some research on the origins of Budweiser and Charles Conrad & Co. in Budweiss.

Let me know if you can help with a PM.
