Good morning everyone. Happy Mothers Day.

Speaking of mothers, the bluebird mama will be spending the day teaching her babies to hunt -- the nest is empty! The last one left about 11:30 yesterday morning. Unfortunately the camera didn't catch their actual first flights, just them tottering in the doorway before making the leap. (It automatically records for about a minute when it detects movement, then waits a couple of minutes before detecting motion again. Their flights all happened in that wait time.). But here's the last one sitting in the doorway right before leaving. Hatched April 21, taking flight on May 10, so only 19 days from hatched to flight. They sure do grow up fast!

That is such a wonderful picture & timeline for those little guys. My parakeets will lay eggs about 1 week apart so the babies mature at different times. They take at least 1 month or longer before they come out of the nesting box. Interesting too is almost all the parakeets in the cage will help in feeding the babies. Nature is amazing.

You guys dont think I would make or even use something like a wood ball mount do ya ?

Just a picture i caught online search for hitch crapola.

Me.... i am the type where if i need a hitch / ball for something that say weighs 3000 lbs... i wont go with anything lower than a 5000 lb rating.

I always over strength anything i do... i am of the mindset of "rather have more than enough than not enough"

Just the way i am... safety is paramount.
Ok you lost me on the wood ball mount.

Fell down the " Wood ball mount videos"
Making pivot balls, wood balls, jigs for making balls.
Then your taking about trailer hitch balls.

5000 lb rating minimum for towing.
Anything less maybe a lawn tractor.

So wood balls, need pictures
Hitch balls need pictures

Never a picture, now takes balls.

Happy Mothers Day to all.

Plan for this sunny day let it warm up, 35F
Going to 61F
Move tractor, get skidsteer to do the dirt loading and mixing.
Black flies are feasting now.

Hope everyone has a great day.

The wing tips look like a snake's head.
I think they are supposed to be "eyes" to scare predators... doesn't scare coon cats!!

I got the tractor in, took the front off the loader. Got the pump and shaft out.
The shaft looks like a 12 inch 3/4" extension.
The splines on the end that connects to the motor side are stripped. The pump end is pretty well toasted as well.
Not looking good for the repair end.
Cessna pump = obsolete = aftermarket and the price is crazy.
(US price/exchange/tax/tarriffs/duties)
Then the shaft, and probably the part that bolts onto the motor.
Start calling the tractor bone yards.

eBay Canada!! Down here the scrap yards are selling a LOT! Get the entire US to look/buy rather then the locals.

Transferring my garden soils today and my chickens got 2 each. It's hard to convince some of them that they had their 2.

So to continue the post regarding ball hitches. This is a 10,000 lb rating.
