Ran across this the other day. Not sure what to make of it. It does seem to be a foundation...no coners or other traces of a foundation.

Good Sunday morning everyone. A chilly 24 degrees right now, some frost on the ground, but no snow yet. I think Mother Nature is trying to lull us into a sense of complacency and then yank the rug out from under us while dumping a foot or two of snow when we least expect it.

Did I mention spotting a treestand out the kitchen window yesterday?
Wonder how long it's been there. Poor owner probably got traumatized.

Lots of trees standing where we are. Sometimes in strong winds they fall over though.

We have a law of no firearm hunting within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling without permission.
No I don't object to it being there. Just mildly entertained someone put it there without my knowing.
I may have been hunting elsewhere at the time!

1: Get a bar stool.
2: Make sure the outside screen is off ( easier to slit a hole)
3: Get range finder
4: Get your favorite long barrel
5: You can take it from there.
6: OBTW Please don't call the taxidermist for this one.
(All subject matter is attended to be taken with a grain of salt)
7: A tree stand trophy on the side of the barn.

Could be a border if no other similar work exists in the area.
Anything from a buggy trail edge vs yard or pasture....Who knows yet..

I was gonna suggest he build a trapdoor in it and pit full of skunks but your suggestion could work. 🤔

I would be out there now but our rivers, creeks and streams are 5-10 feet over "sluicing" levels.

We had a lot of poachers here. Then I moved in and began hunting them. Fish and Game and the local Sheriff's get a kick out of it. Haven't had a trespasser or poacher for awhile!
I wouldn't reccomend hunting an armed individual! If you do know the laws and make sure no cameras are around! Its private property not in public view! So no filming or photography...lol! Then its your word against theirs. I have 0 public land anywhere near me..well a mile away.
I absolutely hate trespassers! Ive put tons of signs up. So they've been warned!

I wouldn't reccomend hunting an armed individual! If you do know the laws and make sure no cameras are around! Its private property not in public view! So no filming or photography...lol! Then its your word against theirs. I have 0 public land anywhere near me..well a mile away.

I'm fortunate my 2.5 number of signs at the hunting property have held the hordes at bay.
I did add another out back along the border where a guest next door's stand was minding my business more than the neighbors business. No foul though. One and a half signs at my entry are about all seen from the road. No public land near it either.

Just think of all the gold its washing off the hills and slopes into those crevices and traps waiting for you to recover.
My old aboriginal mate (passed away now) used to set up the surface areas and small gully's between the low hill areas with gold traps he would make out of rocks and branches. Anything that would have a channelled water flow, no matter how small even, he would set them up when big rains were predicted. Then after the rains he would take buckets and fill them with the trapped gravels and pan them off in any of the old diggers dams scattered throughout the bush. He used nature as the sluice and just had a pan. He sometimes did quite well and it was amazing to see the results after we'd have big heavy rains.

Your lucky to even have a right to even think about it.
I could point a cap gun at an intruder/trespasser and be charged.
Crazy actually.

A close friend of the family bought a revolver for his father( nearly 60 yrs ago)
Did the police check, and all the paperwork.
The cop asked: What is your purpose in owning the pistol Ralph?
For protection as you know we live close to the highway and my father is alone alot.
The cop replied: All I can tell you is dead men don't talk.

Intruder breaks in, I introduce a healthy dose of bear spray. I'm charged
Baseball bat. I'm charged
Pin him against the wall with an 🏹
Then it's just my word against the wall ornament.
Intruder breaks his leg in my house, he's going to sue for damages.
