A close friend of the family bought a revolver for his father( nearly 60 yrs ago)
Did the police check, and all the paperwork.
The cop asked: What is your purpose in owning the pistol Ralph?
For protection as you know we live close to the highway and my father is alone alot.
The cop replied: All I can tell you is dead men don't talk.

Intruder breaks in, I introduce a healthy dose of bear spray. I'm charged
Baseball bat. I'm charged
Pin him against the wall with an 🏹
Then it's just my word against the wall ornament.
Intruder breaks his leg in my house, he's going to sue for damages.

That sucks!
I lived in NY for a few years. I moved there from VA. Well every gun i had was a no go there! NY also doesn't allow NFA items and at the time i had alot! So sold everything!
Got to NY made friends with the local PD by fixing 30 some of their new holsters and magically the Sheriff's Office gave me a full carry in less than 3mo! Then I joined the PD...lol! Pretty much the only way I could own fun guns there!
Now im in GA and the laws are back in my favor as a civilian...lol!

Just think of all the gold its washing off the hills and slopes into those crevices and traps waiting for you to recover.
My old aboriginal mate (passed away now) used to set up the surface areas and small gully's between the low hill areas with gold traps he would make out of rocks and branches. Anything that would have a channelled water flow, no matter how small even, he would set them up when big rains were predicted. Then after the rains he would take buckets and fill them with the trapped gravels and pan them off in any of the old diggers dams scattered throughout the bush. He used nature as the sluice and just had a pan. He sometimes did quite well and it was amazing to see the results after we'd have big heavy rains.

I know a few people tried that around here.... but... our rains would roll volkswagon sized boulders down the creeks and rivers, destruction galore !

Just remind the intruder (as he's looking at the business end of your 12ga.) that
there is a vast amount of wild land out there, and buried bodies are never found.

Around here that's known as "SSS"...meaning, Shoot, Shovel and Shut up.

The S.G.M. marked piece looks a lot like latches on R.V.'s to hold covers/access doors closed. Like a water heater vent door . A spring is involved in the missing sides components.


Your blank rounds brass looks a bit like this.

My guess is you just didn’t have a coin under the coil yet. Lots of other interesting stuff, though!

14 hrs of kitchen duty today.
Made up a large batch of Haskap candy.
Cooked squash again.
6 qrts of thick squash ginger soup
16 pounds of butternut meat in the freezer.
Got tired so I'll clean the other half tomorrow. 😴
Got myself a fishing magnet delivered to the door.
The Mrs queried me about the 10 batteries I bought. They were the 2450 wafer size for the alarm system.
"$140+ they were expensive"

No dear the batteries were $10.50.
The magnet was......🤣
"Well you better get out there this year then."
Man in kitchen can do no wrong.

I'm fortunate my 2.5 number of signs at the hunting property have held the hordes at bay.
I did add another out back along the border where a guest next door's stand was minding my business more than the neighbors business. No foul though. One and a half signs at my entry are about all seen from the road. No public land near it either.

Yeah the laws against us here too.
Scums home invaders enter our place at own risk. Things placed strategically in every room of our house and I taught my misses how to use them and where they all are. Crazy, 10 yrs ago here that would have been furthest in your mind.
I hate that we have to think like that but that's the world now.

Part of my home and property protection. Got a few more that unwanted visitors definitely dont wanna meet!
These are my former working dogs. Both are trained a bit differently. The 1 laying down is excelled in training so she and I did more specialized training.

This is my best most amazing dog! He was a rescue from a shelter. He was very badly abused and scared of everyone. We bonded immediately! We are still working on things,but we'll get there. We do most everything together. He loves grocery shopping!

Lovely dog. I had a black and some white English bred staffy that looked so like yours.
Mine was nuts, good but nuts. We called him Taz after the Tazzie Devil cartoon character. He was a tornado.
😄 Funny because me and the misses came to the same name just 1 week after getting him at 8 weeks old. She said "Taz he's like the cartoon" I was "that's exactly what I was thinking". 😆
Imagine yours jet black with a thin white stripe down between its eyes and a near perfect 5 point star in its chest and that was Taz.
Oops, sorry was thinking of my English Bully cross with the stripe.
Taz was just jet black with the star.
Only picture I still have. That's in Queensland Aus where we lived and got him.
Around 4 mths old having a rare sleep between destruction 😂

Here in Florida several sheriffs including ours have made videos encouraging citizens to have firearms and learn how to use them. Our sheriff, Sheriff Ivey went on to tell citizens to make sure they carry their weapons with them at all times as the Deputies cannot get there fast enough in an emergency, like some thug trying to rob or hurt you. I knew a guy who shot a thug in self defense. The police had to confiscate his weapon for the investigation. He was released at the scene & the detective told him to stop on the way home and buy another gun.
