Well I'm wrestling with what the plan will be going forward in the regards of generating "extra income" for my play money.
I'll still buy and sell (just in the blood)
Same goes with buying gold and silver ( nothing wrong with making a profit)
Now the scrap side of my life (In the blood)

Insulated wire is ok to flip, though it's bulky and hard to handle.
Processing something down generates a high return, also cuts the size of the finished product way down.

What to do is my present train of thought.
I don't burn-(totally out of my ethics of recycling options)
Strip wire-costs can range for a piece of equipment $300-12,000
Granulate wire-Cost of a machine is $10K-20K( Home based units)

Strip wire it's still very time consuming and there's a limit on what a cheap stripper cost and how well it can preform (we're talking copper wire here guys, not the brass pole types)
Still it's a pain to put into containers, or a barrel for transport.

Granulation of copper wire the size of the wire now can be 24-10 awg solid or stranded, extension cords, lower recovery is not wanted by many.
Totally bottom feeding here in my thoughts where profit runs between 120-190% return on this bottom grade wire.

The small granulator will put out 100 lbs of granulation per hour without too much strain on equipment.
Lets put it this way a 5 gallon bucket of granulated communication wire will weigh around 160 pound or $1100 CAD
Granulated house wire is worth $1450 a bucket.

Easy to transport.
Still thinking-OH the honey due list needs to be trimmed.......
Then man can do no wrong

I saw a small stripper somewhere the other day...And don't recall where. For auction or sale I 'm fairly sure.
Worse I didn't study it.

Lets see what we can break here.

Large taps. For threading.
Are brittle.
But decent material so we can in theory anneal then regarding and temper to a desired hardness harder than copper..
Of if we have enough taps to sacrifice (and safety glasses) we can skip modifying taps.

Two taps rigged like a paper shredder would probably want guide wheels each side to keep wire being fed from jamming or friction on the sides. An eventual sacrificial rubber caster wheel type might allow for wear and less fussy adjustment as stops/guides.
Adjusting distance between taps for varied diameter wire would be next. Perhaps adjustable tracked opposing chucks. Opposing to allow close distances than two chucks in parallel.
Could only one tap be spinning and the other stationary like using a drill press? (Red flag disclaimer : let's not go for a ride inside a glove into a drill.)

Is there any rivers, creeks, or streams that have gold up there ? Set up a sluice box. I sold all of last summers gold and now that I kinda know what I'm doing, will hit it hard this summer......that might be all I do !
