Parked the Tundra for 2 days, gagged last night driving the dead mouse around. Left the windows cracked open till noon. Went to the mechanics to swap out trucks.
That stench came alive.
To do list: passanger wiper blade, washer motor, dent in passenger door, get rid if that stench.
Pepper it probably died on the heater core.🤣
Got the Mazda back today, he replaced the box, installed $600.00.
Red front, black back, looks OK.

Good Morning.

No prospecting for me today. The wife wants to go to Walmart. For most people that means a ten-minute car ride. For us, it is an hour and a half... one way!

But I did get out yesterday and checked a non-promising/promising spot. On the inland side there was a stream on my way up to a vista that I should have stopped at and dipped my sluice pan into but endeavored instead to take to the top of the hill. I did not see much quartz in the stream or veining on the hill, but there is plenty of galena with an old commercial lead mine nearby so it may be worth revisiting that stream.

After heading off the hill I started towards the coast to have lunch, I found a stream deadheading into the ocean. I dipped my pan for a while but did not see anything. I was just about to head for home when a distant rock with quartz veining caught my attention. I investigated and found some spots of smoky quartz, but coastal quartz is useless. The surf pounds on it and makes it very fractured so it can't be faceted into gems. But from the picture you can see how voggy it is, how thin these seams of quartz are, and how they just disappear in dip and strike in this area. It makes it impossible to chase them with a compass to find better spots, but does tell me maybe gold is nearby. It is still nice to have the ocean clean the rock to find quartz veins though. Inland, it is just so wet that moss covers everything.

Not all was lost though. It was a nice spot to have lunch, that always tasting a bit better when salt is added (salt water).

I hope to head inland tomorrow and see what is in there them hills!

I decided to get up and go to the beach to watch the sunrise. Put the coffee on and laid back down to wait for it to brew. I woke back up an hour later with the sun high in the sky. I'll try again tomorrow.
How was the strong coffee ☕️

Yesterday was get the tiller started. Pull, pull, pull, check fuel, bone dry.
Fill, I looked at the fuel running out of air filter cover. I shut the fuel off.
Next lawn mower, put fuel in, pull, watched the cord retract like slow molasses running up hill in January. Pull half a cord, repeat, repeat. Screw it!
Go play doing something else.
Today is fix those 2 while the mood strikes me.
Hope everyone has a great Caturday. They try to find some common ground. The swats on the nose are love taps.
Maybe after 10+ hits a hiss, ears back, followed by 5-10 more smacks. He might whine a why? and walk away or just lays down.

We noticed his ass is getting wider though. I called him a fat ass last night.🤣

Good morning :coffee2:
Gotta get out there early and bury all the broken irrigation stuff I've been working on for the last several days.
Supposed to be 100f today 🥵
Just about time to head back north.

We might reach 50F today-how about we meet in the middle for the rest of the year?
Not a bad offer-think about it now before you say yes, or no.
Going once, twice, third and final time..........

Sounds like a deal to me!

Did you pull the mice out of the mower first?
After clearing nest type stuff a couple years the mice decided that wasn't enough and one decided to stay put when I turned the key on the riding mower.
Cranked between the starter gear and the flywheel teeth it kind of clogged up a few teeth gaps.
Which arrested cranking efficiency. Which dulled my desire to mow. Which resulted in revisiting the issue after the mouse derived cloggage had dried firmly between teeth on flywheel and starter. Plus the bonus of elongated prior mouse remnants.

The screen atop flywheel has had to be removed on multiple motors to perform a cleaning when acorn shell bits and sundry real-estate occupy the cooling fins and restrict recoil spring strength. Let alone potential cooling restriction.
That after hand turning the screen umpteen times to help recoil the ripcord previous times before losing interest in mowing instead of tearing it apart to clean it.

A peek at price tags on replacements had me all ambitious on tearing apart mowers the last couple years.
I might not want to know where I'm at for labor but I do think I need to charge more...
One push mower spent the winter outside uncovered for it's ungraciousness at my efforts. It's symptoms forgotten but it might have a new carburetor on it. A bleeding gas situation perhaps. Thus the banning to outdoors.
That would make about # 3 or 4 in recent history bleeding fuel. Not including general leaks or failed lines.

I did acquire 5 gallons of recreational fuel yesterday. It is locked away outside of the bank vault. ( Non-vaulted more for the sake of convenience than actual security.)
Not that mowing or vacuuming leaves is exactly recreation at home.
But I have a couple plastic barrels to pick up next week and one can become a test tank for outboards.
One motor might run. The other had a fuel tank of varnish and rust that smelled frightening to any hope of combustion or flow.
Get the old two stroke smoking again and some recreation might be possible.
Hopefully the pull rope retracts.

I've been following your posts, I'm just curious where is this island you now live on?

Not to be confused with gigolo, right Google?
1st pull- vroom!
Then the low settings of pulsing after it warms up. Needs an adjustment.
Mowed some grass for the hens.

Now the tiller. No leak this morning.
But it needs a spark plug wire cap.

Off to find one at buddy's saw shop.

I do a similar thing some mornings. I ride on the outer surface of a very large rotating rock and enjoy the view as it slowly changes to include the sun.
