Early seventies the stores started reducing tobacco sales to us kids. Though a parental note in writing could work.
Such a kid was encouraged to buy "extras".
A friends Dad drove truck.
2.00 a carton for ciggs when they ran around 4.00 retail. Bought a couple of those.
Machines didn't discriminate. Often in vestibules of entrance ways a kid could drop 35 cents and not only escape with a pack of smokes , but on some machines hit the thank you button and recieve a complimentary pack of matches. Which indeed held value among kids. (!) Things like camp fires and tennis ball cannons . Let alone tobacco.
Got to where one store would sell us rolling papers and a small package of Masterpiece pipe tobacco (.05 ) and no packs of ciggaretes.
But between smoking rolled pipe tobacco and the unsupervised machines and the varied random sources ; we got by.
Beer wasn't hard to come by.
Stores were miles away from me most places I've lived.
Still are for that matter.
Hey I got one of those ! Cooooooooon cat !!
Yea same here, I tell them I'm as old as dirt but they still want to see my ID.funny thing is that at nearly 70, new regs make me show my ID to buy any alcohol!
Now that is an 'eye full' to be grateful for.......Yea same here, I tell them I'm as old as dirt but they still want to see my ID.

How do you like the Ridgid?Yesterday a couple of these were finished, next week a few more to do. Inside work is soooooo nice ! no more roofing, or concrete work.... I even have my chop saw on wheels to make things a bit easier. I can, and have just grabbed compressor with one hand.... chop saw in the other hand.... lug them from truck to job.... let the young dudes do that !!!!

I'm adjusting the fence constantly and looking in to an aftermarket brand replacement. Other then that it is great ! I still have my old trusty 12" Delta Industrial that I still use regularly. I bought the rigid as I needed a sliding compound miter saw. It helps to put the best finish blade you can find. How do you like the Ridgid?
The table says are pretty good.
I have Bosch compound miter saw.
It's treated me well.
118 lbs it's wheeled around.

A contractor told me to get the Ridgid, he said the guide was true to the ruler.I'm adjusting the fence constantly and looking in to an aftermarket brand replacement. Other then that it is great ! Well the fence problem... you won't have to worry about as the MS255SR is discontinued. These are wicked ! I want to try the cordless !!A contractor told me to get the Ridgid, he said the guide was true to the ruler.
A good blade really is key for making a true cut.
Have to do a plate rail in the matter bedroom this winter.
