What's new

THE Random Chat Thread - AKA "The RCT" - No shirt or shoes required - Open 24 / 7

So I go to get my auction purchases this afternoon. I knew it wasn't going to good as it was at their head office. I picked up the silver plated lots and a Dyson Vacuum. I said I'd do the sterling lots at the end and the coin sets as I needed my scale.
"No scales allowed in here"
Well how am I to check the advertised weight?
"It's posted"
Well I'm getting it anyways.
"I'm getting the owner!"

Met some buyers out in the parking lot, exchanged numbers to do some business. They even were like WTF is that about you can't check the weights?

So back in I go to meet the battle ax (i'm being polite) and she plainly stated I wasn't allowed to check the weights.
So its 2500 grams of sterling, 14 Royal Mint coin sets hell ya I want to check the weight.
Not a pretty conversation and she banned me from bidding.
(She's not the top dog and this dog has a bite) :laughing7:
Everything worked out with the weights but a lot of 5 coin sets stated there was a .9999 silver dollar in each set.
Problem is the mint didn't strike those years in .9999, only in .925 sterling.

So I filled out the refund information online, and start the process for a $207 or 35% compensation on the lot as the collectability isn't there.
I will formulate a strong letter stating the problem of not being able to verify gold and silver with this seller.:BangHead:

What the heck?

Maybe you're just supposed to bite the coins to test their authenticities?

Good morning all.

The county mowed the ditches and hit the phone box tied to our land line (yes, we still have one). To quote the repair guy, "They didn't just bump it, they sat the bush hog right down on top of it."

So they came out and fixed that.

Then I noticed that one part of the yard was starting to green up nicely, while the rest is still dead from lack of rain. The trouble is, the green came from a leaking hydrant -- there was actually a nice puddle going on the top of the ground. So I dug it up.

Lovely. Fractured base.

Then there were issues with the replacement, so that turned into an all day affair that isn't done yet, so I have yet another open hole in the yard at the moment. And I didn't find a single bit of treasure while digging it either. Not even so much as a rusty nail.

What a week. And we've still got one more day to go!

The brush hog operator needs scolded for not backing up and finishing off the communication junction box.

The whole issue is I've caught this Gordons seller/real estate/downsizing company too many times having mistakes or just using the AI app to write up the description of the article.
Now posting up an article for auction as a fence post driver and it actually was a 3 point hitch wood splitter is a good gut :laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:
I take the time to report and to correct the description. Some sellers actually thank a person for the correction like double posting of the same article for 2 different lot numbers.

But in this case it's dealing with precious metals and scale weights.
Their hard reply was "Well we're not going to weigh anything anymore!!"
My response was: That's probably a good thing. :laughing7:
