hmmmm half way down eh? That would be a long climb back out even from there! Beautiful though! :icon_sunny:

Cyndi,
We never got out out the top we had a couple hundred feet to go to do that we are about 600 feet from the canyon floor where the creek runsand about 400 feet from the top , when I took this photo.

I don't want to post the entire picture as it would reveal a location, but a little cropping on one side and on the bottom cleared that up.

Thom

truly enormous! Glad you have that crop option so you can share these with us!

WOW! Unreal mountains! very very beautyful! Is Colorado located in the centre of USA?

Colorado is just West of central.
To answer the question yes it is west central US.

Cyndi,
Someone once told me that if you were to Iron Colorado flat It would be bigger that Texas.

I believe it.

lol I believe it too...would most likely make Texas look pretty small!

beautiful...can barely tell the depths in front of you from there....I can envision Wiley Coyote realizing it far too late! lol It is gorgeous and makes ya wanna walk closer and look on over that edge! :icon_sunny: Thanks for sharing!

The drop off that is closest is about 800 feet.
There are places where you are very close to the edge and don't realise it.
Some times the ground slopes in such a fashion that you just can't see much more than where you are.

These canyons are very much awe inspiring.

Evy,
We get tornados here as well once in a while one will touch down in the valley for a few seconds, but for the most part they skip right over from mountain to mountain.

I don't envy you at all.
