This place I call Home

They do indeed!! :D Nothing like beautiful nature photos to remind us who is in charge and how much He loves us! ;)

I was going to say that the first badlands photo should give an idea why the Colorado River turns Red.

Watch out for the residents when you drive the badlands, in the road through the glass you will see some antelope. Four I think.

yep...that clay and the antelope both look real familiar! amazing how much our landscape is alike and yet so different too!

Man this is a great post with tons of great pictures. Thanks for sharing them (and with my e-mails they are great!) Keep them coming my friend!

Thom,

You are the Man! :) ;D

Thanks you guys,
Here is another badlands type photo. It comes from the dragon's tail just East of Rangely CO.
This was taken June of 07 just as it was starting to get dry. Still has some sping green on it.

Very pretty...that green won't last long once the heat gets turned up but it sure is pretty when it is there! :icon_thumleft:

Evy,

Thanks ,
after all that time with no picture at all ...
a little levity was called for !
LOL

Can't be so darned serious all the time.
This stuff is supposed to be fun.

I found some pics of a hunt I have been doing in and around the Leadville area for the last 6 or 8 years.
The scenery is beyond awesome, and I'll post some of the pix when I get them sized.

Thom,

Love your new avatar

As you go up towards Leadville you have to cross the Eagle Bridge.
I know a lot of folks who stop and get someone else to drive, LOL

Wow I think that I would drive very slowly, VERY SLOWLY-- :help: But I bet it is beautiful from up on the bridge too!

My mom would be one that would stop and let someone else drive....and close her eyes! lol She can't even look down at a lake when you are driving down toward it. Sad how many gorgeous views she misses!

Here is something to try Cyndi,

I stop and let Kathy take her time to reach the point of view.
(She gets Vertigo really bad)
She then puts her hand on my shoulder and finds it stable enough to enjoy the view.
Sometimes the person only needs to be stablised enough to keep from feeling like they are falling.
Stand with your Mom and let her lean on you.
See if she can enjoy the view from that angle.
