Treasure Clue, can you help?

I am new and haven't read all the posts, I don't even have the book yet, but I just thought I'd put this out there. What about the fact that each of the twelve creatures is the name, or partial name, of a city? Could this be where they are located? I know it seems really obvious, but Stadther did say anyone who could read could figure it out. I just think it's a lot simpler than people are making it out to be. Any thoughts?

I think that the arrow you see maybe the shape of a state- if we are looking at the same pots on the same page.

Hi Everyone!

Here are my clues- they are not anything like what has been posted- then again maybe people are keeping them a secret!

On page11 MS states "So, as you read and look carefully at the illustrations if you believe in Fairies,(spelled differently than in the story), you may find the clues that will lead you to the treasures."

Page 19
If you turn the book upside down you will see a faint outline of a horse right above the dogs mouth. It looks as though it is stretched out like it jumping over a steeple.

If you look at the bottom right corner of the framed picture of Zac and Pook you will see George Washington.

If you look in the tree to the right of Zac's hatchet you will see a profile of Geroge Washington

If you turn the book on its side with Page 18 hanging down and look at that same tree you will see Mount Rushmore.

The white horse could be the Crazy Horse Memorial - they are very close to one another.

Mount Rushmore has limestone at the bottom and is located in the Black Hills of SD. Birch trees are very common there.

If you oook to the right of the picture in the border you will see a plume hanging from a wire and the leaves form legs - the spider. A plume is used to locate the center of something.

On Page 16 tam-o' jacks and tool stealing grubinmoles and cawcats are mentioned and the whole border is filled with carving tools hence - Mount Rushmore. The tam-o'jack could refer to jack hammers, the grubinmoles could be referred to a bin raders - bears, raccoons etc.... and wel I'm not sure yet what 'cawcats' are!!!!!!!

There is something written in the tree right abouve Zac's head in bubble letters - but I haven't figured that out yet either.

On page 33

There is an aligator in the tree right in fron t of the bee.

The lady bug sitting down with her back to us at the mushroom looks like a crawfish.

The point of the clues is to let you know that you HAVE to look deep into the illustrations PAST the actual picture - I strongly suggest a magnifying glass.

On page 55 The whole border is filled with messages..............the big guy at the bottom with the long hair........look to the right inside his hair and turn the book sideways with page 54 hanging down and look to see if you can find the word PRY.........MS wrote some of the poem in this guys hair from one side to another! The are messages in the sticks, the dragonfly is on the sleeve of the lady that halfway looks like a man with the hook in her hand, the number 80 is on the forehead of the guy to the left of the big guy, the guy right above the big guy has a word written in his beard and then tun him upside down with a magnifying glass and you will see more letters in his mustdashe!

There are tons more but I haven't totally figured them out yet.............

The initial poem was a freebie from MS everything else is going to be a lot harder...........

I hope this helps-

Cindy

here we go for waht it's worth

two things have really been taking up my time

the dandelions and seeds and the mushrooms on page 100

I feel both of these have some meaning. I tried tracing them to see what i came up with.
two things jumped out at me. first they looked like they could be braille secondly constellations. I've tried with no result to get a message from it but maybe one of you is better than i.

if we agree that pook is standing on the map of Florida there is one mushroom which he has not tramped on and if you look at it as if it was a pointer then that would be Tampa

Wow Cindy you have some interesting ideas. I couldn't find half of them though. Especially the George Washington profile though. Thanks for the info

I agree...some very interesting finds Cindy, however I could not see any of them! I have been doing all of my searching with a magnifying glass from the start, but it is not helping me here. I will have to say though... I have looked at this book so long that I probably couldn't see it if you pointed it out!! LOL....so I am off to bed. Good work.

CAN SOMEONE please CLARIFY IF THIS LADYBUG finding is FOR REAL? wHAT IS THE STORY...IS IT A HOAX OR NOT???? Whoops...sorry for yelling, my caps were locked, but I THINK IT WAS SUBCONScIOUS! Thank you!

We will know within a few days if it is real. First of all you MUST (according to the rules) redeem the token within 30 days of finding it or that treasure becomes the property of the authors. So given there is a time limit then the person WILL tell the author soon which means the author will TELL US ON THE http://www.atreasurestrove.com website.

Whether the person redeems the token or not, the author Mike Stadther will tell us the STATUS of that token whether it has been found or lost or whatever.

:)

To All (including increasering),

The RULES are not complicated. If you do NOT redeem your token within 30 days of the sponsor discovering it has been found, you can NOT redeem the token after 30 days.

So WHO are you trying to FOOL.

JET is a FRAUD and a PHONY and you are either JET or a close friend trying to throw everyone off.

STOP IT.

The only way to really hurt you and JET (if you are not really the same person) is to find the token(s) before you and make you realize the truth that others found them and NOT YOU!

Im confused, has someone found a token? Am I to understand that we are not to believe the previous posts about solving the puzzle- the key someone posted? I cant seem to follow all the posts, they dont seem to start on this section

Would anyone care to brainstorm with me on the following concept:

Stadther hid 12 tokens around the continental U.S. Then wrote an encrypted children's story about how to find them. (not necessarily in that order though???)

1) How did he know of twelve good spots around the U.S.? How good did he know popular public places around the U.S.?
2) How is he keeping an eye on his tokens to know when they've been found, because the rules say when he notices one is missing there is a 30 day count down for it to be redeemed or it can't be redeemed after that.
3) considering he's been drawing the drawings in that book for YEARS did he know ahead of time where that pictures clues were going to be hidden? or did he just make all messages GENERIC so that the pictures would always be valid regardless of the time frame for him to complete his project?

My, my, my, are you feeling a little cynical Handgems?? But actually, once I got past the tone of your post, you do make an interesting point.? And my thoughts on the subject are...I don't think the directions he gives in the text & pictures are "in general".? He says you will find clues that will tell you exactly where the tokens are hidden.? So, yeah--he may have had their destinations in mind before he began their drawings, or...he did the majority of the drawings, then hid the tokens, and then edited the drawings to include the clues to the now hidden tokens.?

At any rate (and I don't mean to target your post here), all of the chatter about how MS did this or that--what a "days" drive is, what does "continental states" mean--takes away from his intended goal.? He is meaning for this to be fun.? (for you and for a child if you have one to share it with)

It's not the destination, but how much fun you had getting there! (or something like that).

Ok, back to the game! (Superbowl that is)

Those are some....interesting ideas handgems. Maybe you're on to something. Has anyone thought anything about the four pedals (call them what you like) floating away from the dandelion. It seems there are always four except on a page or 2. And also on page 83 there are four pedals but no dandelion. I'm pretty much completely confused by them though.

IMO, I think the picture with no dandelion is to represent the 'New Moon'. If you notice the moons and moon-like dandelions, they represent a full year. Remember that MS mentions one year alot in the text of the book. First Anniversary, working on the box one year, hasn't rained for one year..... Time plays an important role. Several places in the book time is mentioned (One Year, Midnight, Noon) 12 months for 12 jewels. Just my opinion though. ;)

Logging in as a new one but have been reading for days now! Just got the book 3 days ago.

I have noticed that noone has mentioned one that I found interesting and it's on page 46. If you turn the book sideways with page 46 nearest you, now this is just my observation, notice the 12 faces in the tree? Coincidence? And to me it looks like the United States.

Wondering if those faces are looking towards the States that the tokens are hidden? But then again, my sis-n-law disagrees but only with the way to turn the book, she says it is the other way, with page 46 away from you.

Something to think about...

There are images he drew that are duplicated various pages. At first you think so what...but then you realize he HAND DREW all these pictures so WHY would he spend the extra time to draw duplicate fairies, dandelions, mushrooms, leaves, etc. on various pages. Somehow I think these pages are meant to be linked somehow....but how?

Hi Guys....I am new to this. Read the book and found a lot of the clues that are being discussed. The clues some of you supplied are great, I am impressed and thank you. I am wondering why in the latest clue MS misspelled "Resporitorys"? Any thoughts on this? If I come across any clues I will gladly share with all of you.

I just want to ask why everyone is on the "Save our trees art" as the answer to the numbers at the beginning of the book? I got a whole different answer using the authors name. Why is everyone using the Title? Did it say to do that? And really, Does "save the tress art" make any REAL sense to anyne. Mine has a direction somewhere. Anyway, I meay be really off, but I was curious to why everyone bought into the Trees thing. Please advise, becasue I believe it is completely wrong.

QED

Okay time for another off the wall shot.

Looking at page 44, Have y'all noticed the 2 sets of twins?? Now forgive me if I am wrong but isn't St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota nicknamed "The Twin Cities"?? And if you use page 46 like a map of the US you can see that one of the faces is looking in that general area.

Just throwing ideas around, seeing if I am way off base or maybe onto something here.
