What do you do with clad pennies? (I mean, besides not digging them.)
If they have been in the ground for any length of time, then they are generally corroded.
These are really junky and won't go through the coin machine.
I've been stashing them in a dedicated trash container.
Also: Do you count them in your totals?
The ones I retrieve that are very corroded, I just throw away and don't count them in my detecting totals.
If they are clean, I throw them in the change jar that goes to the coin machine every month or so.
If the machine spits them out, they go in the junk jar.
