What is your opinion on Gordon's Treasure?

Show me the treasure! lol. It is possible I imagine to see the ship wrecks in shallow water. We used to fly the rivers and mark out structure to go back and fish. So my theory is that anyone could fly over the reefs of known areas and mark wrecks and objects from a plane. They say their was no special equiptment on board his space craft and Gordon Cooper just used his eyeballs.
I think if their was treasure real treasure it would not need to be on reality TV but would end up in the news.

I was a cop for 20 years. Haven't watched a real cop show since Hills Street Blues.....Now if they put Mel Fisher back on tv..... TTC

Pretty boring so far, at least to me. If you've watched any of these treasure shows, you can almost guess what's coming next. Sort of like same old script just different characters.

Any So. California divers here? Isn't that wreck off of N Laguna between N Laguna & Horse Pastures? If it is and they make a ground breaking find, it's planted! Everyone I knew in my diving days had searched that wreck. God knows how many have searched it with better equipment in the years between!

Kinda like M7 off of Sarasota, FL. Every NAUI-trained diver has probably been there. TTC

Total baloney. I'm watching "Bering Sea Gold" instead of that garbage. At least they actually find gold and I get to check out Emily Riedel. There's something very appealing about her. She's a train wreck most of the time, but then again, so am I!

If you think about it, they didn't film the episodes te day before they screen it on TV. I'm sure this was all done some time ago. So, why haven't we seen the announcement of some huge treasure find on the news? He must NOT have ever found anything. Because if he did, he wouldn't need a TV show. He would already be rich.

That's a good theory. But if you look at it from the producers & production companies point of view, they'd try and keep any finds hushed up. If a big find was found and it hit the news, people would read it on the web say yeah OK and that'd be the end of the show in episode 3 no more residuals etc. It's not about a remarkable find it's about how long can we keep this dog alive to make a pile of money.

watched about 10min,they have more time & $$ to waste than i do
that would be a

That makes two of us that feel that way about Emily! Some would think me a dirty old man but I can think of a lot of things that Emily and myself could do besides diving for Gold. Let's just say that I believe I could get that train back on it's track and her' whistle blowing really loud.:icon_biggrin:

My cousin was in the original group of investors with Mel. He dove with him and his son often and when they hit the mother load he did very well. I have a few items from that wreck he gave me.

I didn't read the whole article, but seeing that they have claimed that the anchor was used in that time frame doesn't mean that it could not have been used after. It reminds me of an article that I saw earlier today about how some numismatist has determined that the Shroud of Turin does date from the time of Christ because the coins that were placed on the eyes were minted about AD 29. That doesn't prove anything other than it couldn't be any older than that. If it is a fake, whoever made it may have used coins from the time frame they were shooting for.

Sorry for the almost unrelated rant.

I like it.. but I liked oak island also until the last show ... it sure beats watching 99% of the crap the hollyweird jerks think everyone wants to see..

I'm watching this show as we speak. Fox news today has a specialist that claims it is one of Columbus's ship's anchors, supposedly. Very interesting.

I watched part of it last night. Goodness knows, they will run it to death so I am sure that I will have another chance to catch it. I also read the FOX article about the anchor and the title is at best misleading. They believe that the anchor is from one of the ships run by one of the guys who had been with Columbus. Who knows, only time will tell.

Turning it on is a waste of electricity.

it's called Cooper's Gold. New episode tonight on Discovery. Dude has a ton of notes and a chart made by Astronaut Gordon Cooper , who was a family friend. Supposedly Cooper told this guy that when he was orbiting the Earth , he was using top secret equipment for the military looking for possible nuke sites that could pose a threat to America. And that this high powered " detection " equipment helped him identify tons of possible ship wreck sites . I'm still giving it a chance for now. First two episodes were crap. Third one is not bad. He visits Kim Fisher and shows him that Cooper had marked his chart as a ship wreck site and called it something like " site 4 ". Turns out that site 4 is at the co-ordinates where Mel Fisher found the Atocha ! Coincidence ? Kim Fisher says if they had had access to that chart , they'd of found the Atocha years sooner than they did. Don't see the Fishers going along with a BS show just for a little exposure ? But even if it turns out to be fake crap , it's something to watch about treasure hunting. Watch the third episode. Maybe worth a shot after all.

Guess i will have to get pay tv to see.
