Ive been thinking on this for a while now. Why would there be so many tools like scrapers and knifes in one spot? I am leaning towards these type of spots to be a kill spot. Which means they killed a animal and then cleaned it for process and then carried it back to camp to eat. Well I have found spots with just tools and maybe 1 or 2 damaged points in the general area. My question is this.......do you think they just cleaned the animal and left their tools in the kill spot or do you believe they carried all of their tools with them back to camp? I am thinking they could make tools fast and just left them and made more later as needed. I am sure they had some favorites and hung onto them. Here are some I have found in the same spot. Each pic is a different spot. Id like to hear some theories on this as to what everyone has to say.

And what are you talking about now being paid by post? The only sympathy I am having is getting ready to get rid of constant attacks on others opinions especially from the ones from the sidelines. As far as post being removed Larson deleted post from both quito and Gator for being off topic and the reason said arguing like little kids.

My turn....alright all arguments aside. There countless reasons for soil displacement. Here also along the Delaware artifacts have been found as far down as 12ft. This is due to floods adding another layer of silt every year. I think this post got out of hand due to the statement by GB stating that they would move and and finally come together creating those piles of worked flakes. That is so speculative that it warrants no answer. Debitage is strewn throughout sites. Yet when I hunt a site it always tells me a story.
First example, all the fields I hunt tell me a story of occupation. Certain areas of the field will have Paleo to Early archaic. Other areas middle archaic to woodland. Only finding certain types in those areas. One spot I found a Crucifix drill, adze, Celt and several other tools in a 10ft x 10ft area. All those tools in one area told me that had to be a work station. Down in McCungie, Pa. I stumble on a pile of worked jasper flakes, but I could see flakes everywhere, however here there were a lot piled in a 2x2 ft. Area. Work station? You would think so and the evidence suggests it. These pile ups only happened by mans hand. Not natural acts of god. By man. GB the movement of artifacts would only occur through yes natural occurrence. To suggest that pile up of debitage was natural is wrong. If that was the case why are there no stones with the same density sitting in that pile as well? Yes countless things can happen to move a artifact but unless through some devastating land altering occurrence will stay where they were left.
