Whats with all the "goodbyes?"

Jeff, I'm OK... It just took me a day to find the website again, and I want to know where you got my picture from :icon_scratch: :laughing9:

S.S. I don't have the need to brag, or even post my finds.. But just for you sparky, here's a little 14K something for you I found last week

Fresh from the store...nice find :unhappysmiley:

Wrong again there Zippy.... Try a neighbors house :laughing9: Like I said, I have no need to impress :p

Well it is a little harder (different would be a better word to use) to figure out some things. I see what treasure hunter is sayin. Diggit, I did sound a little negative on my pic post, but I will figure that out and mastered by tonight. Welcome to Tnet, too, from all of us here in Summit County, Colorado, where we're high all the time by default.

I've been here off and on since about 2001 (I forget the exact year now). Many times I was up to 2,000 posts--said a long good-bye---and deleted my entire account. Then a few months later I realized there's no other forum like TNet. Granted it's never been perfect (like me), but with all it's shortcomings it sure beats the heck out of all the others. My last time to quit TNet was back in 2005. It was about March of 2005 as I recall. I managed to stay away about 4 or 5 months.

The point is this, many who quit return after they cool down and rethink the matter. There's an old joke about a man who got so mad at the conductor that he had the train stopped so he could get off and walk to his destination. The idea behind the joke was to point out the absurdity of letting ones pride cloud ones thinking. After all, who did the man hurt most by walking; the conductor or himself?

I'll just cool it and keep riding.

Badger i remember when you last left, you were sorely missed, what hurts is when people quit and delete their account. You lose all their post and for many that is a loss of a lot of good posts and valuable info....

ADAPT AND OVERCOME!!!!!!.....I love the new look.

Thanks for the replies, guys. And as for WHATEVER the hell else happened in this thread... wow , that escalated fast.

Thanks, TH. I think it was about 2005 when Marc took away the DELETE Button (for someone to instantly and completely remove his account). Marc got sick of guys getting ticked off (or whatever) and deleting their threads along with lots of posts by other people. After that time one had to request to have an account deleted.

I tried to do that a few times but each time he basically said...nah. So I quit posting for awhile until I missed the "fellowship" and back I came.

Again, probably most of these who are leaving the forum now will return sometime in the future. They may return with new IDs (that's what I did), but most will come back.

YEAH! Not store bought or borrowed! He keeps it because it matches his fishnets and stiletto heels!

Meanwhile, back on the ranch ............................ I don't mind the site. I have been using Firefox since it first came out. The only thing I haven't figured out is the new version of "Replies to My Posts". I have a work around by going to all my old posts and clicking on them to see if there are any replies. Problem is when someone replies to an old thread. Oh well.

Mike

Mike, like everyone else, we will have a learning curve and then it should be smooth sailing. It really didn't take too much time to learn it and I enjoy it... And as bigscoop mentioned in another post, the membership is growing at a steady pace.

Drawbacks, improvements, things you'd like to see happen.. Sit back and wait, just don't pout and run off like a schoolboy saying if you don't do it my way, I'm taking my ball and going home.

SPART----I want my title in your army as Head of Internal Affairs. I can then interrogate our own army members....muuuhahaha

it is a forum people. forums change all the time. takes time to get the bugs out. and in the end, before too many whining posts about "I amleaving I hate the new look' or whatever, geez, just walk away quiet. more dignity in it. if you don't like it leave. If you do stay and have fun. like ya'll said there are way more things to worry about than this forum. BUT I hate the colors! :) :) but I ain't leaving
