Wide AM's...please enlighten me

Anyone have a good photo comparison of the norm vs. a wide AM? I search cents a lot but I'm baffled because I either have not found one or I don't know the variety I am looking for!

Does anyone know of a website as good as the licolncentresource site but for other denominations?

If you have been looking a lot like you say you are, you will know one when you find one. When I found my first it was like getting hit by a 2 x 4 in the forehead! I definitely knew that it was what I was looking for. I would suggest getting an older cent, maybe one from the 1970's where the wide AM was the only way they made them and use this for comparison. I woul also highly suggest buying a loupe if you dont already have one, it is amazing how much it helps!

I search a lot of cents but have never looked for these. I am usually just hunting for wheaties and copper but now this gives me something else to search for! I do have a great loupe so maye my next box I'll make a point to search one out!

How "rare" are they? Are they worth something special?

a little google will go a long way. WAMS in great shape sell for....(let me check - now you need to check). Search Ebay Completed listings for a realistic value for anyting, WAMs included.
