Think I found the king of wheat errors-1955 Double die(UPDATE!!!)

Hello all. Shaking like a leaf right now. I think i found the rare 1955 Double die while going through some loose rolls tonight but want some expert opinions. Unfortunately, it has some damage, especially on the reverse. Please let me know what you think, MM2

(SEE REPLY #58 FOR UPDATE)!!

Wow that looks great despite the tarnishing. I don't know much about error coins but that doubling is VERY prominent.

Great find MM2

Wow! I would say that would be a '55 error. Put it in a holder. Great find!

Its not everyday you find potentially a $1000+ coin in a roll.

Thanks for the confirmation! It took me about an hour to calm down! I let out such a big yell when I found it, my wife thought i hurt myself. She thinks that i'm crazy getting so excited over a cent.:laughing7:

I'd nominate you for the banner, except I don't want too many other people seeng what we get from CRH and causing a lot more new competition.

GREAT find though. AMAZING find. Good job. :icon_thumleft:

You did it, MM2. That is a sound XF coin. I found the 72-DDO a while ago and still hoping for this one. I knew a guy found one in the 70s but that was a while ago. Banner for sure.

What next? To top this someone has come up with a 69S-DDO or 58-DDO.

Thanks for the comments. I also posted this in another forum. Someone recommended getting it authenticated as he said there are counterfeits out there. Does anyone know anything about this and anything to look for?

Yes go to a coin shop and see if they think it's real. Also send it off to be graded.
