Since most people seem to believe garage sales, etc....are slim pickings these days just wondering what does an outfit like got-junk do with the stuff the cart away from houses, estates clean outs, etc...

Would that be an avenue worth checking out?...food for thought.

IMO I think people are using Etsy, eBay, and market place , among other online sites.

Average rent is $1790? Holy mackerel! I am staying in Ohio! I have long been out of the rent scene, but I think apartments are around $600 and houses $1000.

AND... it only goes one way.. UP.

Only time it went down was in recession... really went down anyway.

Buy today... worth more tomorrow.

There is a HUGE housing shortage here... and they are building like crazy everywhere.

Around me... RTR would be lucky to get a condo for the price he stated that house he pictured WAS. heh

Oh and PS...

The AGE of the place is HUGE factor... some of the "newer" stuff is not as desired hence... is less money.

AND... the most important ,,, Construction.

I wonder if RTR's house was wood frame OR block construction.

HUGE difference.

There were many years here in that the codes were slack OR non existent on important things.

Codes are in place... but requirements to meet those codes are whatever the minimum requirement is.

And even if your home was built well from wood... you then have all the other problems that associate... this is Florida.

Bug / termite / MOLD and MILDEW capitol.

A water intrusion into a home here... can spell out HUGE money.

And you cannot sell. by law here.

Then... you have tornadoes... Floods... Sinkholes... Hurricanes... and again Termites that ALL love a wood home in Florida.

Along with all the other things everywhere else has to worry about... like fire... tree falls... etc.

Insurance is required depending on locations and a host / multitude of factors... again by law.

There are cheaper places... Trailer park for 1200... OR roughly 500 IF you own the trailer... and or lower income areas....

And they are the first to be evac... floods etc.

Basement ? ? ?

First one I would have ever seen here.... never even heard of a basement here.... definitely NOT near any water... maybe in middle of BFE.

Um... never even heard of that town either.

And... IS it Block or wood ? ? ?

Beats me. All I can see is a hurricane bullseye. L.o.l.. (I wouldn't be able to sleep till midway up Georgia if the wind blew over 60 m.p.h... Just knowing that eventually my home would be in the way.)

Probably a daylight basement of several courses of blocks atop a slab. More like a really deep sunken livingroom. But I don't know how they built it for sure.

[Exterior features: Stucco, Vinyl, Cement / Concrete
View description: Water
On waterfront: Yes]

That's the exterior... and seems misleading to me.

Deleted some my blathering's.

Sorry I went on and on... sorta the mood today I guess... needed a good venting. :)

Relaxing / recouping today... back at it tomorrow... next day to do this will be next Monday from the looks of it.

Never know... might not be so bad on the next one to dust off detectors.

If not... perhaps the next... or the next... or the next.

Next is what keeps ya rolling. :)

It was good to hear that you actually have a pulse, was starting to think of you like a couple slices of bread. Now that you put some filling between those slices you're a wholesome sandwich again.
Never consider it blabbering Capt. Just saying how it is-is cool.

Oh ya?
But can you smell saltwater and have to scratch your head after catching a fish , wondering if it's edible? L.o.l..

Basements are good to have during severe weather. If not flooded.

One part of the local economy in Quebec that's booming during covid is marijuana. The government stores sold for $173 million during the 4th quarter so lots of people getting stoned.....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

My fish are fine! I grow them in the flooded basement. They love the algae and mold! :tongue3:
