An Inherited Puzzle

Anyone have an opinion on this feature? I have an idea but would like other opinions first.

Maybe if we had a clearer pic to blow up, it would show better what is going on inside your circle.

What about the lines below of your red circle, is that something Mother Nature did? It sorta'
looks like a relief. So if it is, it could be a #7. The border outlines are not so natural looking to me.
I would want to go there & see for myself, Not be discouraged, by an all-knowing, but failed naysayer.

That's exactly right Puff - it's just a pile of rocks. You seem to imply that you're seeking someone who's in on the secret to explain your photos. Hopefully there is such a person out there.

The truth of the matter is that my friend greatly overestimated my abilities, and I, in turn, overestimated the abilities of this community. I’ve come to accept that I may not ever understand what I was meant to understand, and that’s unfortunate, but not the end of the world.

I’ve accomplished my main objective, and that’s enough. Thank you for your time. 👍

Sorry, but a Geology Major knows, it WAS originally just a Natural Formation of course, and then the elements had their continual ways with it for it's Centuries long lifetime, but it never was, no not just a Pile of individual stacked rocks.

I really doubt that your friend or whoever, had misplaced the trust & hope they must have held, & apparently placed in you.
Sorry, that just doesn't sound write. Moore like you can do it if you want to & try. Though If not, & you really do give up on it this easily,
it is your call of course. But then something else will most likely come to you, that is more do-able or feasable. I believe you can do whatever,
even if in secret. But you will more than likely come to understand it very well in time. I wish you Peace.

It’s a vertical cliff face at roughly 8K elevation. Here is a better shot.

It's no secret that's North Florida Peak. A guy from Deming I knew 25 years ago did a lot of exploring in there and gave me info about where to go to find some real interesting petroglyphs (he said). He didn't have any photos, but he carefully drew them for me. As I remember, they were more on the east side of the ridge. I'll have to search through all my stuff to find his sketches and whatever notes that go with them. That's winter hiking country, as it's too hot in the summer and can be full of snakes.
Looks like you're good at mixed signals. Guess your feelings are easily hurt too.

Here's the sketch. Nope, I have never been in the Floridas. The guy's sketch was too vague for me to try to follow. I thought I had some more notes too, but I'll have to wing those from memory. The guy said he went in from the east side (maybe NE). He was looking for any evidence he could find of the Apache cave that opens up down in the Tres Hermanas - the one they used to escape from cavalry patrols back in the day. He was also looking for gold - I don't remember if it was a cache or a deposit. The Apaches didn't carve petroglyphs, so the gold thing must have been Spanish or whitey's. If anything was Apache sign, it would have been painted.

As I recall, he mentioned a place called Wildcat Canyon or something like that. I don't know where that is on the sketch. If you've been in the Cookes Range, you should be familiar with the "lilo" carving. The authentic ones are Spanish, but many are modern, some dated, done by a Deming deer hunter back about 50 years ago, or more.

You're welcome - good luck.
Man I'm sorry just have to call out the BS on this.
The place just has way too many supposedly "Naturally Occurring" areas including, particular symbols that it shouldn't have there simpy just Naturally, besides being an obviously outstanding Landmark, verry sorry thing, for one to coldly mislead.
And, take a closer gander at the shadows, & all of the deep looking crags & possible openings, like almost as much there as in the Sup's. NO, I just don't buy"been there done that nothing to see" routine again. Also, take a hard look at the alluvial fan.
No tellin' what all's been done there. Did the naysay meister ever even run a metel detector around there? I say Nay, Not Likely, if he's really ever even known anyone there. Look at how he nicely complimented you with an insult, then brought up that about
the snakes to discourage you? Like who doesn't know quite well, likely anywhere in the Desert SouthWest, there's going to be snakes, & he should know, wow, just the same old same old tricks, full of it. Been there, done that, nothin' to see again routine.
Sentinel behavior he's always been good for. Puff, if you keep listening to this same guy, I'm afraid that you may never ever find another treasure again... And that Truly would be in tragic. Go follow through on it. Check it all out for yourself if you can,
If you've more clues, or if you're supposed to potentially gain more if & when there, if you can, go! Then you can look & Listen, & you will find it out. I've a brand new (once lightly used) set of Mossy Oak Snake Guardz in the package I'd give you.

Lol, yes, there are several pareidoliac figures in the third photo, as there are everywhere you look. A common occurrence, for that matter I think I’ve seen some examples of Pareidolia in your own searches that you claim were used to direct your sight in the proper direction, correct?

Speaking of Pareidolia, what do you see circled in my last photo?
I see what resembles a NA elevated burial.
I've looked a lot more at this area you're pointing to, trying to make out the different shapes there, it's like something kind of bundled was placed.
Yes, I think it could be as you said. It looks like something has been carefully, intentionally placed up across the space (gap) on top of something else,
like maybe on wooden or a stone slab. There are rocks stacked up in rows, with a few larger kind of white, on the left side below with what looks to be
longer wood or rock slabs, more than one, but are seeming to be stacked up, & supporting in rows kind of like steps and the one end of the horizontal,
whether wooden or rock. The lighter colored rocks are looking more roundish than flat. So without a better, clearer pic, I'd say it appears more likely to
have been constructed, especially because of the stacked, & smaller round looking rocks & poles or slabs supporting, shoring up the entire left side.

Talk, talk, talk. If someone thinks something might be up there, then he ought to climb up there and look around. Pretty simple, eh?

Very carefully and conscientiously if even at all. May be spooky spirits Guarding...
That could cause a climber to make a mistake. Priority depends on the reasoning.
But a really good pair of binocs or a good telescoping lens should reveal more of
a detailed view. That's what should be done. I Always See More In My Pics on
screen & especially after Posting, the clarity at the bigger size & thumbnails.

More importantly & most likely, it would be considered disrespectful.
A strong person may be able to handle anything encountered there,
but there's other things that can happen, if the spirit world is upset.

I do wish Puff would come back on & express more thoughts...
But if not, we may never know much, if any more about it.
Maybe that's just the way it was always meant to be.

Puff, unless you're experienced in steep rocky terrain, I'm changing my advice in Post #47. I checked my old files from back when I was active in Search and Rescue. We had a mission on this peak in 2010. Granted, the four college students who climbed up there ran into a freak winter storm and had to be lifted off with a helicopter, but the usual problem in this sort of terrain is coming back down, not going up. It's not spooks, but missteps that get you in trouble, especially when you can't see where to put your feet.

There may be a safe way for someone to traverse over to that target from that big crack to the right with the bushes in it (in your first photo). Or around from the other side. No way to tell from photos, but this climber's video may give you an idea what's up there. Personally, I'd need more motivation than pondering that photo. North Florida Peak

I appreciate your concern and echo your words of caution. My friend and I shared a military background with experience in this type of terrain, and I believe my experience as a peak bagger is one of the reasons I was given this honor.

Yes, this is not for the uninitiated, it may start out a level 2 climb but quickly turns into a level 4. And yes, the ascent is perilous, but it’s the descent that will kill you.

My reference to overestimating my abilities was in regards to my reasoning, not my physical limitations. Though those are definitely a consideration.

But there’s no need for taking chances when I have a perfectly good alternative with my drone. I’m not a total idiot. Just reasoning impaired at the moment. Lol

But I do appreciate the warning, something everyone should be aware of if planning a visit. :icon_thumright:

I do find it a bit entertaining when y'all *Sigh* about the possibility of Spirits, but I'm sure Puff is fully, even more than aware of such things & all, & with the cool night fire drawing, etc.
You even mentioned recalling 3 college students rescued because they'd gotten caught up in a "Freak Snow Storm"... hmmm,... How'd that happen, they surely must've checked the weather.
Anyway, glad yer feeling strong Puff, & we hope there's more interesting info to come. We'll try to be a better listener, & hope for a good, successful outcome, whatever the chosen plan.
It does indeed look formidable, so hopefully something really good will come out of the time & energy spent. We still wish you Peace, Good Luck, & above all Safety. Fun & Happiness...
I do find the area in question, quite fascinating. It really does look like it could be an Ancient Burial, & how old might it be? Them people could really climb, amazingly...

CDS, no offense, but half the time I can’t understand a thing you’re saying and don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. I appreciate the encouragement (at least I think that’s what I’m reading ?) but maybe ease up a bit, ok? Take a deep breath. 👍

If I lived in the Dark Ages I might take it a little more seriously. It's an alibi for failure, or for not even trying.

I can tell you are a person until it happens to you will not believe it.

The angle of the sun striking it is from the east in your pic, from the west in mine. Direct sunlight washes out the formation in yours.
I think I found the spider anyway.

It is washed out but you can still see some parts of the legs.

Honestly, I do not. I have the photos and accompanying notes/directions. But no clue what I’m to find. Without disclosing personal information all I can say is that my task was twofold. I have no problem accomplishing the first, but not a clue what to look for on the second. It was inferred that I would understand once here, and that’s what I’m trying to do with this post. Obviously I’m missing something and thought maybe the community here, of which they were once a part, might shed some light. That’s about it.
FINALLY!

Try orienting the map first. North is indicated at the bottom and the numbers are oriented the same way. I'm assuming the faint broken line in the exact center that runs left to right is a paper crease? What are the red dots?
