So i told my girlfriends brother about half dollar boxes, and he figured he would join in on the fun. He lives in New Jersey, so he is able to go to completely different banks. Of course in the first box he found something like 35 90% and 5 40%, which is more than i have found in all of mine combined, but thats a different story. Anyway, he decided to ask for a box from BoA, and finally after weeks of the teller telling him that she has been forgetting to order, the box has arrived. After he opened the box in the car, this is what he saw on 32 out of 50 rolls. Image attached....

Has anyone seen anything like this from a Sealed box? He said he did find a 1964 in the last roll which did not look like this.

I would say somewhere along the lines of ordering and delivering the coins, someone (probrably the tellers) cherrypicked the box and took the silver. I would not order from that bank again. hh

Weeks to order? The teller must have been searching it on their restroom breaks! That box sucks!


Perhaps you could ask for a sealed box. Not sure if halves come sealed but I have gotten Brinks nickels, dimes, and pennies that were sealed with brown tape and you couldn't hide the fact if you tampered with it.

Even if the 2nd box was marked up with this "✓" Atleast he didn't get skunked on the marked box, even though it was only a one silver haul. 35 90%er's in the first box, that's crazy! Do I see a bicentennial ender in the pic?

The first box was from a completely different bank. He decided to expand his searching by ordering from several different banks. Needless to say, he will not be ordering from this branch again.

I have seen rolls that look like that which were dumps from another CRHer. I have had a box or two in the past that contained such "recycled" rolls, but haven't in a long time.

Many times when I ask for CWRs when I am at the bank they bring out a bunch of these types of rolls (except here they are usually Brinks rolls) that someone had deposited. I never take them anymore because I have only found 1-40% out of all such rolls since I have been CRHing.

I have heard of the carrier simply repackaging dumps like that.

I have been ordering 6 boxes per brinks boxes per week from BOA, from 2 different branches. I have been averaging 2 boxes per week that are repackaged dumps. I have never found anything in them, but I don't want to complain since its not the banks fault and I don't want to loose decent honey pot.

Looks like one of my dumps (and in NJ it could possibly be), but I haven't re-rolled in a couple months now. What part of NJ?

This is not the Banks fault it's a CRH's fault. A CRH brought back the whole box after it was searched instead of bagging them up or depositing them at two banks. Bringing them in the box will only screw you or someone else.
It sucks that he got this but the other box made up for it.

Just got my first box the other day like this. For sure, someone's dump bank. The one thing I really hate is how hard those wrappers are to reuse. There must be a .0001 tolerance over the actual coin size!

I had a box a few weeks back that had nothing but recycled rolls. I'm in New Jersey.

Yes I have several times from the same RAT B%&^$ARD who keeps dumping them at various banks near me. I know of at least 10 banks within 30 minutes of me that have free coin counting for their customers and there's one bank that will even let you dump occasionally without having an account there. This turd of a person puts a brown magic marker line down each roll then glues the box shut and returns it. There's also another dingleberry that slits the rolls down the side and edge searches before resealing his box. I used to return them and complain to the tellers that the boxes were tampered with but they didn't get it. Now I just swear at the buggers who dumped them on me wish them ill and open the rolls up and dump them to be counted.
