My first target was a 1916 wheat while I'm filling in the hole my buddy is recovering a 1831 capped bust half dime. Oldest silver I've ever found was a seated and never found a U S 1/2 dime so Im obvious jealous. A while later I found the large cent and I think a cotter pin. Altogether, a productive 3 hours. Oh and I don't think the crazy horned spiders will keep him away from my spot!!!

well some folks have a hard time sharing --starts about age 3 with the MINE,MINE,MINE bit --some folks just never outgrow it - these kids have few friends in kindergarden.

You got two firsts, but don't want your "buddy" to get anything...sad

Not when they can't come up with spots on their own then want to hunt out yours. That's what's sad. I guess your that guy.

Nice finds, I call that a good day when both partners get something good .

Don't let Dutchtoga fool you! I've taken him to good spots...all on private property's where I've obtained permission. At one spot, earlier this year on a two hour hunt, he found an 1812 classic head large cent, a standing liberty quarter, and two mercury dimes. I only found a roasted large cent. However, I was happy for him! Even though he is a very jealous guy, I still enjoy hunting with him:)

Looks like you guys are on a good spot.

I took a buddy and his dad to a old colonial spot I found in the woods. I've dug 9 buttons, 2 large cents, an old reale and a bunch of square nails from. I've taken them to a few of my spots and never had the favor returned. Well I headed back in there after a soaking rain this past weekend only to find unfilled holes everywhere and what was left of 2 plastic kids sand shovels. This place was untouched for 200 years and after sharing the spot with them it looks like a bomb went off back there. Some of the old stone foundation was ripped down as well. I don't know whether to speak up or not.
Oh yeah, I've not found any good targets since either.
Just figured I'd share my experience with y'all.

Get your gear ready Mattysee!!

the Mormon never invited me to his spots!!! lol

I did invite you to my spot but you were too busy that day. However, you did take the liberty to go to my Normanskill spot and find some Indians and Silver...I never complained about that Mr. Garbage Man:)

I hope you people are just joking around, If not ....
Take it outside, & off the property .

I'm laughing to hard to comment. No one is serious I hope. Thursday night Jets and New England football game I'll be having a " finds" poker game at my house so bring your silver coins, historic buttons, early tokens.

Awesome find's

Sounds like a great hunt, regardless. At least nobody went home empty-handed!

Love the pics of your best hunting buddy. You must miss him dearly, but it's so good you had all those years together.

Will the 1845 Henry Clay button be up for grabs?
