If you have ever watched a real archeological dig it is like dentistry. They use little tools and go very, very slow so as not to disturb artefacts and the matrix around them. Every object of note is photographed and mapped to know exactly the orientation and depth. What is going on at Oak Island is more like digging a home foundation, drilling a water well, or strip mining.

When one has zero factual evidence to back up their claims about a fictional treasure on oak island, it appears the next step is to personally attack a member who is posting actual facts.....Interesting.

Well, yes and no. They started out as treasure hunters and are still treasure hunters, but added the archaeological to it when they started running across settlements from the past. But make no mistake what their goal is.

They're doing a hack job for entertainment only. No studies going on there, just wild unsubstantiated claims until the next Startling Discovery.

They are doing more of an archaeological dig on the other lots. Not sure which one it is right off hand. Lot 5 or 8 maybe. Just as they have to mark the spots they metal detect, that want to dig and have it documented before they dig to even see what is there. The lots the ladies are digging in, I would think they are doing what and how their permits tell them to do it. Most likely any finds are documented before the cameras are called over to film a reenactment of it for the show. That would be a boring show to just watch the ladies dig with the brushes and picks and not find anything, just as it would be to watch Gary metal detect and not get any hits for 30 minutes..

Not really. I only check in every six months to confirm that nothing of any significance has happened. I didn't make it past season two of the show as the narrator raised my blood pressure and desire to strangle another human. Been around here quite a while . . . and remain disappointed that any evidence that may identify what, if anything, of value that was on Oak Island is being destroyed. As have the last 27 groups that charged in like apes to rape and pilliage rather than learn the truth.
