Oak Island Treasure Revelations

Earlier you mentioned it 2 to three years to complete. That would span multiple rainy seasons and winters.
Even if the vertical shafts were sealed before the first rainy season, the horizontal tunnels running out to the shores would be more susceptible to the rise in water table/seepage and subject to collapse. Here's why that's important.

They finally finish the entire project a year later and ready to blow the 4 openings but the tunnels have unknowingly collapsed during the previous winter so the tunnels don't flood as expected.
Maybe that's not a problem to you but that sounds like a problem to me especially since you've already sealed the vertical shafts.

It is easy to produce a theory that can only be proven by finding the treasure...but parts or all of that theory can be disproven if the numbers calculated for hydrostatic pressure don't add up, or air bubbles go in the wrong direction, or shafts/tunnels are exposed in rainy seasons without cribbing, etc.
So to me, even air bubbles as insignificant as you think they are is still important to me.

You probably saw i produced my first theory yesterday in a thread called "two stacked boxes". Just like yours, it can only be proven if i can convince Rick and Marty to dig shaft 6.
And just like your theory someone may find something i overlooked and disprove my theory the only difference is...ill except my mistake just as i did with cribbing/no cribbing, and move on.

3/ The tops of each shaft were sealed to keep out any future rain fall, this was when the mine being used to store in coming treasure,
4/ When the protection system was activated (flooded) it did not matter anymore if the any tunnels collapsed because the treasure was abandoned anyway.
All the mining works could have been done during one hot summer if there were a large enough work force available.
You speculate about what would happen if any of the tunnels collapsed before the fuses were lit, I will apply simple logic to answer this theory of yours. If the tunnels had collapsed and the miners did not check it all out before first lighting the fuses then the treasure might not be protected indefinitely. But to reiterate, when the mine was flooded they didn't care any more - game over.

In the spring of 1898 the Oak Island Treasure Company pumped red dye into the Money Pit, it showed up at Smiths Cove and to their surprise also at the South Shore area. This is precisely where the Ice holes were formed by continually rising air bubbles, and those ice holes were discovered in recent times.
When in 1898 the red dye was poured down into the Money Pit showed at the South Shore outlets, it proved beyond any doubt that there was a definite link. When the harsh winter froze the sea over the the ice holes were seen which appeared separated, this time it was not with die that came up from the Money Pit but air bubbles.

You speculate in your theory that if there were collapsed blockages in any of the tunnels this would ruin my own theory, then perhaps you can explain how dye or air bubbles can get through a blocked tunnel? They clearly managed to sneak by somehow - obviously three separate times.

If I understand your schematic there should be at least 7 shafts dotting the hillside between the south shore and the MP, and they were all open at one time? Seems like there should be some depressions there.

Have you considered that the chamber between 26 and 28 should be above sea level (otherwise the sea would spill over and flood the lower complex)?

The show may have already tested your theory.
When Eagle Canada did their seismic testing, as a test for the technology they started with an area between the MP and a circular pit on the south shore left by a previous searcher. The Laginas knew there was a documented tunnel there (and they found it - maybe - there was some lawyer talk there - Rick pretentiously saying "so it would seem").
My point is the scan may have caught a piece of your complex.

Was the dye poured in at high or low tide?

And how long did it take to get to Smith's cove and then to South Shore.?

And just how much dye showed up ? Was it flowing out or was it seeping out? How Red was it? Did it show up in four locations on South Shore?

How many gallons of dye was poured into the pit?

A sand sump on the ocean floor can create enough bubbles to keep surface ice from forming; however, it requires a lot of sand and wave action. A sand sump at the bottom of a 180ft deep vertical shaft will not contain enough sand nor wave action to create the volume of bubbles to travel 400ft through four separate tunnels to the South Shore shoreline and then another 300ft off shore where they were said to be seen. I’m not saying that the ice holes witnessed by Dan Blankenship were false; I’m saying they couldn’t have originated from the Money Pit.

Once the MP is flooded and reaches steady state, the only movement of the water in the MP would be
due to the tide. The tide at Oak Island can rise 50ft and at high tide an additional 20 to 25psi of hydrostatic pressure is applied at the opening of the alleged flood tunnel. This would push the water 45 to 50 feet into the alleged 2ftx4ft tunnel and pulled back out at low tide. This occurs twice a day and is not
enough to have any significant effect on the sand sump located at the bottom of the 180ft deep.

In 1898, 100 gallons of concentrated red dye was poured into the MP which contained 73,400 gallons of
sea water. Without more details on the cross-section and lengths of the alleged tunnel, I cannot Accurately calculate their volume. I would think that the 465ft tunnel to Smith’s Cove and four 700ft tunnels to the South Cove would double the volume of water to 148,000 gallons. Since the water in the MP was not
agitated to mix the dye, they relied on the tide and molecular diffusion (i.e., Browning movement). Without the tide, he diffusion of the dye would take days if not weeks for the red dye to mix. The 50ft rise and fall of the tide
will certainly mix the dye and seawater with in a day, I find it hard to believe the water/dye mix could travel up the alleged tunnels in a day’s time; after all, the pumping action at the alleged opening is
just 45 to 50ft where the tunnel to Smith’s Cove is 465ft (10% movement) and the total distance to the four opening
300ft off South Shore is 700ft (7% movement). Because this movement is so small, the red dye is primarily
molecular diffusion.

Hi Armchair Detective, there might have once been the depressions and some may still be visible , but why would anyone want look for those through wooded areas, they are just empty shafts with no treasure is in them.

The tunnels between 26 and 28 are dry airlocked leading eventually to the Repository 30.
The green line and small fir trees indicate that those areas are further inland not near the sea.
The tunnel you said Rick investigated 5 went directly to shaft 6, when some previous searcher filled it in the sand backed to the inlet 8A and covered it over. This left three remaining inlets that were working until searcher's ruined the Money Pit, the sand then again backed up and covered over the remaining inlets 14B, 19C 24D.
Not many people know that the west bound ascending tunnel 9 started at 133 ft down in the Money Pit but it was never investigated, everything on the CAD from that point has never been known, however the Lagina's have been copies so what they do now is up to them. I have offered to help them for nothing I can't do more than that, but the are still working in the Money Pit area and they will find nothing there , you'll see.

You seem desperate to dismiss the flood tunnels theory, yet some were found elsewhere on the island, four foot high by two feet wide. You say that dye could not have reached three separate inlets via flood tunnels from the Money Pit, maybe you prefer to think some natural streams did it. Maybe you should check out Armchair Detectives last post, a flood tunnel from the Money Pit did reach South Shore and it was proved by seismic testing by Eagle Canada.

If you require precise answers maybe you should ask Rick Lagina, but then again he could only quote from dusty old records and you don't believe them. No I can't help you C O and I seriously doubt that anyone else on the planet can.

I should have been clearer.

The tunnel referred to was done by the Halifax Co in 1867. They dug a shaft on the south shore (,you can still see it) "about 200 ft south of the MP" then tunneled 110 ft toward the MP then was flooded out.
This was documented says the show, and was the test for Eagle Canada's methodology.

Armchair Chair Detective has provided you with proof of at least one flood tunnel that was linked to the Money Pit. The CAD shows that the three tunnels 11 16 and 21 branched off of the main west bound tunnel 9. These tunnels conveyed sea water containing sand to flow down the descending tunnels to the bottom of the Money Pit Sand Sump. When at a later time and the mine was flooded the reverse process occurred red dye and air bubbles rose through these ascending tunnels to exit at open inlets holes in the sea bed. Up until the destruction of the Money Pit sand sump air bubble continually rose and that fact became apparent with three holes in the ice. When the Money Pit sand sump was gone eventually the sand backed up and the inlets were blocked and covered over, Rick Lagina observed that they were gone and no modern dye test to find them again had worked.

However this loss of this important part of originally designed protection system does not alter the possibility of recovering the treasure, it is stored some distance away in the subterranean repository 30. (see CAD)

2 you used the red dye test which appeared at Smith's Cove and South Shore as proof there are flood tunnels. However, hydrostatic pressure calculations of tides and diffusion of 100 gallons of die in 73,400 gallons of seawater confirmed the red dye appeared at both shores too fast to have traveled through the shafts and tunnels you diagramed.

So i am not trying to prove there are no flood tunnels but fact checking the claims you have used to justify their existence.

Just so you know...i believe the original MP story with a single flood tunnel to finger drains located at Smith's Cove could have been dug and filled in one dry season from May to September.
However, i do not believe your network of tunnels excavated over multiple rainy seasons and winters would have been successful without the use of cribbing.

Now, if you can find a record from before 1795 that describes an expedition to an island detailing the digging of a tunnel system to protect treasure, i am all ears.

I would even settle for detailed information of distances between shalfts, dimensions of each shaft, the depths of those shafts, the cross-section dimensions of each tunnel and lengths in order to calculate the amount of dirt removed, the number teams used, how many men in each team, where each team put the dirt until time to seal the shafts, what they did with the dirt from tunnels that was left over, then calculate how many ships were needed to bring everything to Oak Island AND how they got it all completed in one dry season.

It would not matter to the perpetrators after the explosions had occurred, that is simply because it was precisely by that (designed) last ditch method of rapidly closing the mine that all those involved could be safe from arrest and inevitable execution. They had to reluctantly abandon the treasure to protect themselves from the imminent threat of betrayal by someone within their own ranks, this would be in return for a full pardon and a huge reward.

Only about three men at a time could work digging with pics and shovels in the confined space of a shaft, when tunnelling started only one man could dig inside the ascending tunnel and another behind him dragging the spoil in canvas bags back down to the bottom of the shaft, this suggest that only about six miners were used as a shaft excavation group. The other separate shafts were similarly constructed simultaneously. The work done on the surface would require maybe over a hundred people working in various areas all at the same time.

Two men working on the surface of each shaft controlled the mule driven hoist, and two more men disposed of the spoil possibly at Isaack's Point to create a protection barrier to prevent waves from damaging the filter drains. On reflection with a large work force working simultaneously during the whole Oak Island mining project, it could have been completed during one hot summer. Possibly six more months were required in winter conditions for the completion of all surface ground work like the construction of the triangular reservoir, and the lowland swamp to the north.

My calculations only covered digging a vertical shaft which took 1 to 1.5 months to dig a the same amout of time to fill. If they arrive in May, they are ready to leave in August.

When you add 2 men digging a 465ft horizontal tunnel, it would take 4 to 6 months.

It might be possible to build a cofferdam at Smith's Cove and dig the flood tunnel in both directions reducing the time to 2 to 3 months.

So the total time for both the vertcal MP and flood tunnel becomes;
Best case: 4 months or August
Worse case: 6 months or October.

I am now convinced the vertcal shaft and the single flood tunnel to Smith's Cove could NOT have been dug in the dry season.

With regards to your theory...
They too could have dug most of the horizontal tunnels from both ends: however, the tunnel dug 300ft off South Shore could only be dug in one direction so it would have taken 3.5 to 5.5 months.
Since this tunnel depends on completing vertical shafts at South Shore, this effort would most likely start in June. This means it would be completed in September to November before the vertcal shafts could be filled.

Once you add in all the risk factors such as arrival later than May, collapses, equipment failures, etc., im convinced your tunnel system could not be completed during the dry season on Oak Island.

On a scale of 1–100, the probability that the exact structural layout in the diagram exists is roughly 15%, while the probability that some form of 17th-century engineering took place there is closer to 40%.
 
I stand corrected...
My calculations only covered digging a vertical shaft which took 1 to 1.5 months to dig a the same amout of time to fill. If they arrive in May, they are ready to leave in August.

When you add 2 men digging a 465ft horizontal tunnel, it would take 4 to 6 months.

It might be possible to build a cofferdam at Smith's Cove and dig the flood tunnel in both directions reducing the time to 2 to 3 months.

So the total time for both the vertcal MP and flood tunnel becomes;
Best case: 4 months or August
Worse case: 6 months or October.

I am now convinced the vertcal shaft and the single flood tunnel to Smith's Cove could NOT have been dug in the dry season.

With regards to your theory...
They too could have dug most of the horizontal tunnels from both ends: however, the tunnel dug 300ft off South Shore could only be dug in one direction so it would have taken 3.5 to 5.5 months.
Since this tunnel depends on completing vertical shafts at South Shore, this effort would most likely start in June. This means it would be completed in September to November before the vertcal shafts could be filled.

Once you add in all the risk factors such as arrival later than May, collapses, equipment failures, etc., im convinced your tunnel system could not be completed during the dry season on Oak Island.
Based on your responses to oak island sage, it would appear that he keeps changing and updating his story each time you prove a problem with his fiction. Same thing we've seen with the lagina's fictional show.
