During my off time I was doing some research on my family history. Turns out a whole herd of them were from Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. So maybe our ancestors fought side by side RR. One was a Colonel, some Captains, a Lieutenant, and many privates. Some died in battle from lead poisoning, one died in camp from measles. A few relatives were Union members. Had some in the French and Indian War and a bunch in the Revolutionary War. I managed to trace one back to 1600 here in the states.

That stuff wouldn't be good even if you added 9 parts of Rum :love10:

Dr. Pepper is good too...

I've never been allowed to drink soda, but three or four times a year, when I'm lucky, I get a can of one or the other and have a little sip.

I remember when I was in Virginia metal detecting, on the final day of a three day hunt, I bought a small bottle of Mountain Dew, and sipped it periodically throughout the day, like it was a flask of the good stuff or somethin'. :)

That's really cool!

More likely than not, my family was taking pot shots at yours...

And more than likely, some of my family was shooting at their own family members. Don't know if my CSA ancestor was killed, but for some reason his name came up along with an account of a sharpshooter who just made the longest recorded, ( at the time ), shot. He,( my ancestor ), was a Confederate soldier. Seems the majority of my ancestors in the Civil War fought on the Confederate side, could be because many of them owned plantations :dontknow:

That's cool. None from Mississippi. Huh:laughing7: They would all be broke, forget to load their musket, leave their squirrel sandwich in camp etc.:laughing7:

Seems like the Civil War doctors had only two skills:`
1. Drinking
2. Amputation
and in that order. :BangHead:

Talking family tree and stuff. I was told that years ago my Granddad and the local sheriff had a fallout over my great uncle being thrown in jail. Shots were fired is all I know. I couldn't get much else out of kin folk and now I only have one Aunt left and she's still not talking. She's 96.

I think that's still the order today.:laughing7:

Shots being fired, just a normal day huh .
That reminds me, I did find a link with one of the infamous Hatfields. So much information to absorb and so little time. I copied everything and will have to sit down and sort everything out. Just amazing history out there just waiting to be researched.

I had a great great or maybe more "great" Grandfather that was fighting with a local sheriff and the sheriff actually burned down the courthouse in order to destroy all records of my ancestors property claims, which was reported to be substantial and it cost my ancestor dearly since he no-longer had any documentations. Too bad because I could be enjoying the beaches in Florida instead of freezing my .... off up here in the ARCTIC. :BangHead:
