Yeah they indeed do hurt got me a few times luckily not good as I'm sure they can inflict damage. Also a fun not want to see a insanely large beetle look up people handling the Titan beetle.

The northern cactus 🌵, bloody thorn went right through the glove seam.
I found another one hiding in a Haskap bush.
Suckers are 4+ft.

No, just thorns at the end of its leaves, that are very sharp barbs.
