38c today so you'd think as the sun goes down and it cools down you'd want to open up the windows and doors yes. Only if you have earplugs. The crickets are deafening here this summer. Windows stay shut, fans stay on. Volume turned up full is what they actually sound like. It makes my ears vibrate!

thank you all for your responses my online friends I appreciate your thoughts and condolences.
Online friends can be like an extended family and i consider this that.

For me... this is the ONLY part of pet ownership I hate.
It is far beyond extremely hard when you hold a life in your hands.
It is the part of this life that cuts me deeply...
and leaves a wound in my heart that never heals.
For us... our dogs are our kids...so It is like losing a child.
I am in the belief...
That dogs are truly mankind's best friend...
and one of the most amazing creations on this planet.

IF you own one... or any pet for that matter ...
take a moment...
Go tell him or her that you love them and show some attention.
They are worth EVERY BIT of that time spent.

Good morning all. It's 60 degrees F already and the sun isn't even up yet. Crazy weather -- it was 10 below zero just a week ago.
Kid is trying to cope with her mother passing (an ex of mine.)
So I try trying to break the isolation as she's alone in the home now. Windows I can sneak out for an hour or two. Tonight should be a hardware store run with the kid but we'll see.
Old dog (two of them are 16) getting sick on the carpet kept me busy awhile last night.
Today before share my toast time the wanderer showed up and I held her awhile.
Cleaned her eyes and was bit with no teeth ion exchange. Got her warm before putting her on the firmer footing of carpeting and resumed my first cup of the day.
She wandered back almost alert.
Got held gain only just for warmth.
Eventually she had the taste of p.b. and toast that is morning.
Maybe the smell of coffee or toast triggers her direction still.
Andone dog headed for the door so I'm off.
