Peaked at 44c at around 3pm. 111f
And that was with 50% cloud cover.
Tomorrow 😬. This for our district now. The thunderstorms will be dry lightening, the worst.

The heats seen about ten that would have been good button! squashes shrivel up and drop off the plants. 🫤
I saved 1 good one.
Chilli's hanging in ok in the shade.
Strawberries shrivelled and shrunk 🫤
Yellow peppers, the tops of several small plants the leaves shrivelled and died but now in full shade recovering.
Damn this weather event is brutal.

Mornin all.

Sky cleared enough during the night for a 100 watt moon to show.
Frosty deck.
3/4 or more snow/ice coverage on the roofs still.
Today may be the day it melts.
Out in the open out of these woods it has melted a lot.
Sat. or Sun. temps likely stay below freezing all day again for however long.

Sky cleared enough during the night for a 100 watt moon to show.

3/4 or more snow/ice coverage on the roofs still.
Today may be the day it melts.
Out in the open out of these woods it has melted a lot.
Sat. or Sun. temps likely stay below freezing all day again for however long.

We'll have a bit of rain, and temps that will knock the levels way down from the 1+ foot levels.
For the driveway and the laneway, it will be nice and smooth ice covered.

Just waiting for my next taxi driver to arrive-NOT!
We even have a large cone at the top of the lane-But I guess that went over his head.

Now the cleaning gal caught that-"The cone up at the top means the lane is off limits now"?
You can use it because you're a local gal and know how to drive.

I was in the city yesterday and it was a slushy mess. Every dip in the road was full of water.
Just before my turn there's a bus shelter, lady standing in shelter behind glass centre barrier.
Huge puddle lake in front of shelter that went half way across the curb lane.
Car in front went closer to the curb, sped up, and emptied a good portion of that water into the shelter.

I really felt bad for that woman, she just stood there with her arms outstretched looking down at her drenched clothing.
Seriously if I had more time before my appointment I would of followed that driver and gave a much needed correction.
Really what's with people these days?

No one has driven in my backyard trying to deliver to the road beyond the woods lately. The pole barn is in their way and often the plow truck. But I won't be surprised to see a delivery truck backing out again.
I did change the right map outfits map and someone there confirmed it to be legitimate and now a lot of their customers don't still show a road here that doesn't exist. Which helps a lot apparently.

The snow bank was shovelled in front of the shelter. Hence the unimpeded water delivery by the black SUV. The sue factor is a real thing up here also, but the reward is nothing compared to the states in compensation.

Crazy.
Water needs a place to go.
Water seeks it's own level. Meaning water on a level surface is uniformly deep by gravity.

An eve drain is just to the left of the edge is kept shoveled. when water runs a couple swipes with a shovel will encourage it's path. If it hasn't found it yet. And like a couple days ago ; the terrain slope is still maintained. Because water has to have a place to go. Even where I back-bladed in order to keep snow from slowing potential flow.

The village we were in had a street drain (marked with a fish to try to discourage dumping toxic waste in it I suppose by suggesting it goes into a stream) that I kept cleared from debris so water didn't loiter along the road. Because , water needs a place to go. Why don't citizens and municipalities join forces and help water follow predesigned flow routes instead of watching water accumulate? Crazy people.

I used to dig out and around fire hydrants at work too in the winter. Bet none have been dug out there since I left.
