It's snowing! We need more-not!
Starting to really look like a regular old man winter out there.

Just back from one of three dogfoods not in stock for the umpteeth time at Tractor Supply. Rainchecked 8-10 cans.. Other two types I am ahead on.
Wheelchair wouldn't roll forward in parking lot of course from slush.
so the heck with it I went to the grocery store.
And bought stuff for more home cooked for another dog. And some of what I could recall from the grocery list on the refrigerator at home.

Roads are fading fast. Borderline impassable. A van was stuck in front of me awhile at one stop.
Ice mostly. Wind is drifting onto N-S roads big time.
Holiday today.. Report was highway not plowed. Next report was highway should not have been plowed because it turned to ice. My two views using backroads was of the highway traffic was about as slow as I was on backroads.

100 (?) vehicle pile up South of me. They are busing people to a warming center or something.

i'm happy to be home again. Truck did good.
Bought my self a treat of two more cans of sauerkraut!
No wildlife seen while out sliding around.

We got married in Sedona, honeymooned in Vegas.
Seemed like the right order.
Did the routes that took us through a few ghost towns along the way.

Got the drive in tent treatment @ the Hoover Dam. They were looking for a driver and wife that was driving the same type Cadillac as we were.
Seems they just pulled over at the border of AZ. & NM along interstate 10, and booted their 2 kids out of the car and drove off.

Yeah, I hope my kids turned out OK.

Its very simple! I dont shoot if I have a migraine! You wouldn't go shooting with the flu. So why would I go shooting if I have a migraine?
If you're being bounced around by a 12ga then you need better training and a proper fitted shotgun. All my shotguns i adjust the length of pull and comb height. Keep it tight in the shoulder pocket and have the proper stance.
I come from 20yrs of making a living with firearms. Also as an instructor for Law Enforcement and military.

All this talk of pain and ailments is quite exhausting. I really feel for each and every one of you, no matter what your pain threshold is, pain is pain.
I have spent my life beating my body racing dirt bikes and have broken many bones. Spinal fusion in 2010 because disks were smashed thin. Every year it seems like all of the injuries I've had become another source of chronic pain. Wake up and be like "now why is that knee suddenly hurting, hasn't been an issue before?"
Oh yeah, I forgot about ramming my knee against a rock snowboarding back in '94. Doh!
Since 2010 I get visual migraines several times a year. No pain at all, just a bright lightening bolt that's there even with closed eyes. Can't read or drive, have to just find a dark place and chill for 15-30 minutes and it's gone.
Getting old is certainly not for sissies, but not fond of the alternative.
An old riding buddy, 25 years my senior, told me "Don't worry, it gets worse!"

I put a skeleton "It gets worse" sticker on my tractor.

Tomorrow im gonna go tear down those suspicious stack of stones in the woods. I gotta see whats there! Probably nothing, but ill do some detecting and some rockhounding. Also gonna hit 2 places while im dumping the trash. Just more rockhounding. Wednesday I finally got an appointment to have my downstairs fireplace checked out. Its propane and we've never used it. The downstairs is gonna be my hangout and I want the fireplace to work...lol! I still have a ton of movie stuff to hang and frame for down there! The Goonies,Bill and Ted,Caddyshack, Super troopers,Beerfest,The Burbs,Clue and more will all be represented down there. Posters,autographs, wood from the actual house from the Goonies,Beerfest screen used coin, all kinds of stuff! Still need a License to Drive poster and Back to The Future stuff. The Goonies and Bill and Ted i went a bit crazy on! I love those movies though! Keanu Reeves will always be Ted Theodore Logan III not John Wick to me!

Yesterday hunt. I put $20 in my buddy gas tank and we were off. Got there and as soon as my buddy turn on the detector he realized the coil was bad, so I told him we can take turns using my detector. Then I get the my first signal and try to dig it out and found out the ground was frozen WTF this is California and we were just up there two weeks ago and it was raining. So every target we works together using any available rock as a hammer on our digging tools. After switching back-and-forth with the detector a few times, my buddy got a silver. We dug it out together and he gave it to me.

then he got another silver then it was my turn with the detector. My first old coin was my first wheat cent of the year. My second old coin was my second Walker half for the year.😀After that it was his turn for the rest of the hunt, and wouldn’t you no it on the way back to the bikes he gets a silver chain bracelet

so two guys one detector and a $20 investment I think we did pretty good.

Another section done, dragged it up to the shop. Pulled another around cut it into 3.
Got it in, finally.
Sawzall blade kept flipping off, possibly the cutting fluid and the below freezing temps.

I feel a bit beat up from the weather.
Now there's no snow, figures.
So I thaw it out, attack it tomorrow.

Man, you need a 14" gas cut off saw with a metal blade. A Sawzall would be miserable cutting through that crap.

We found a claim in a "non ESH" area (Essential Salmon Habitat) and now have to get a small dredge ! It will be the first year using a dredge besides my hand dredge.
