Beautiful area for sure. I don't know if we'll get that at far south. Last year we stayed in Lincoln City and visited the areas north and south of there. It was amazing and Newports sea lions and delicious sea food was a favorite.

Going to feel downright balmy for us.

Outside with out a coat late afternoon was tolerable yesterday.
A slight haze. Too much cold snow for warm air near the ground still so We'll have fog.
Let it melt! Winter isn't over yet.
Maples might be swelling buds though. Squirrels will like that. Just in time for their frisky season prior to the following kits/pups being born season.

One thaw years ago a racoon left tracks in the snow along a creek. It stopped to gnaw a human finger diameter maple. Gnawed it seriously and mangled the bark on an inch and a halfish tall circle around it.
Today i suspect it was breaking it's winters latest fast. With some sap.
But did it know how to get it to weep? Or did it just like the scent?

Coming home on Friday I saw a herd of deer in a field. Spread out, some laying down as it was only about 5pm. There must of been a couple dozen in the herd. Yesterday closer to the highway a lone Porcupine wondering around, so spring must be getting closer or at least the warmer temps has woken up the sleepers. More squirrels running around, but not doing the 20 mph barber pole twirls up and down the trees yet.
Neighbour wrote to tell us all her chickens were killed off by a mink. So things are happening in the wild kingdom.
