I use that hammer more often than not for fixing things other than driving a nail, back when all cars still had carburetors it was the tool of choice to "unstick the float" that was causing the engine to flood out, but I always tell people who are having trouble with anything, a computer, a cash register, bar code scanner, their car, etc., "I'll go get my hammer, it will fix anything!!"

This reminds me of a dearly departed uncle. WWII vet at Japan during the bombs. He was always rocking GTO/Judges back in the day. Even until the late 70’s. After that he was in milder GM crap. Lost him around 2012. He was always honest and helpful in guiding/mentoring me.

Once he explained about cleaning, adjusting and rejetting GM carbs.

He summarized that the final solution was to completely remove it from the IM and place it on a very clean smooth concrete surface. Then beat the living snot out of it with a sledgehammer and install a brand new one.

Heavy vehicle hauler, dozers, with gravels on the trailers all flinging off with each bump. One hit the windscreen. Could have been worse, no drama just gotta travel a 250km round trip Monday to get it repaired for $120. I have full insurance but for 120 bucks I don't want to use my once a yr windscreen cover which covers a full replacement. Mine for a full job is around $1000 up. Camera removal then refit, calibrate for it and sensors. Makes sense to keep that up my sleeve given the amount of trucks here. And hey, I get bug splatters bigger than the hit area every day.
First repairer though I rang, one of Australia's two major windscreen places tried to con me into the full replacement lying that it was illegal to repair it where it is and not knowing I have full cover then tried to coach me into committing insurance fraud giving me a number to call before I applied for windscreen cover, then get the cover, wait a week then go ahead with the claim through the people from the number telling my insurance it just happened after I got it. Really went into detail how to pull it off. How many people do they actually get to do this?

Good late afternoon everyone! Had an echo cardiogram today and everything went well. Had a little more snow last night but most has melted off during the day. Mountains around the valley are looking good with snow! Best to everyone today!

There's a sand and gravel company around my area. Folks get a rock chip from one of their trucks the rumor is they take care of the glass.

There is a gravel supply company too in one of the previous towns we lived in, Maryborough, that were known for that.
A lot of these we see around here don't have any company names on them to know who they were. Its very much a crossroads area this district for trucking, travelling from other states to ours and visa versa.
I get that in the bush things happen of course but the thing that bugs me is these heavy machinery haulers making zero attempt to sweep off the gravels that get on the open trailers from the dozers and excavators tracks. They just travel along with the rocks and gravels flying off with every bump of the road. Iv seen them at truck stops with empty trailers that have rocks, mud, gravels all over the trailers, no attempt has been made to remove anything.
