He's on ladyfriends lap taking it easy. Oh, now he's eyeing me. We just finished dinner late and he got a few grains of rice in a clump earlier. he's either watching for more ; or expecting me to harass him to the door.
In a few minutes they all go out with me for thier last potty trip with me for the night.
They'll get let out briefly again in the middle of the night usually.

I'll probably buy monofilament for next respooling's.
Often 8 lb. and then use 6 pound if I want a leader.
A weak knot can allow 8 lb. each side of a swivel.
(I use a barrel swivel too; to connect a braid mainline to a mono leader.)
When using a three way swivel I'll tie a weak knot on the weight/dropper side. For relief if snagged/fouled in rocks ect. that allows using mainline material instead of using precious (l.o.l.) leader material.

Need new line on many reels. Maybe I should look at bulk spools.
I'll still find a use for braid though. Trolling a heavy rig maybe. I haven't graduated to wire. I can almost imagine the mess while learning.

I have a solid glass rod with 20 lb. on its accompanying reel..
Probably a couple other reels with 12 lb. on them.
8 lb. has long been my bread and butter though.
Reels are spooled with 6 lb. on smaller ones. i've a few old Century 100 B's. Maybe an A or two.( Zebco's too of course. (Zero Hour Bomb Company.) mostly 200's but others too.
A favorite are Mitchell 300 A's. Been a lot of fish brought to hand with them. All should be spooled with 8 lb.( The 200 yard capacity 300A model spools might have backing line on them for filler. )

Yeah I go lighter on the leader than the main. Nothing like seeing 30 meters of good line ping away trying to get something off a snag 😭.
Prefer to loose a foot of leader.
I toyed with more expensive leaders, flourocarbon stuff, but settled on just using various weight strains of Berkley clear Trilene mono as my leaders. I get 300 meters of it for $15 compared to $20 for just 10 meters of flouro. I noticed zero difference in hookup rates or difference in my catch rates.
But hey @ConceptualizedNetherlandr I too get that you are on another side of the World and it's different everything with where you fish. Environment, fish, everything. You'd probably come here and I'd take you trout fishing and think I was a lunatic! 🤔 Hold that thought, yeah you'd probably be right first one.
You guys do have some radical fishing methods compared to here.

Well picked up. Im ocd on my fishing gear. I don't know why, probably from losing too many "now that's a fish!" fish. 🫤
I couldn't fish with a reel like that without twitching and blinking with one eye uncontrollably!

I think in maybe Japan that might be amongst the most expensive fish delicacy type of thing!?
Not counting that puffer or whatever fish dice with death stuff fugu. Nope never 😵
Ever watched a doco on them catching Ayu in Japan?
Apparently goes back to Samurai practices and requires great skill towards everything you do to catch them. They're the size of say a pilchard. I saw a video of the Japanese fisherman catching them yrs ago and the were cooking them up on an open fire, coals, on the riverside. To me that's bait, but in those rivers they are considered a great catch, I guess by getting every little thing right.

Wanna see how mad its getting here with hate crime laws?
This guy, a rail worker lost his job for a perceived, not proven just perceived, nazi salute. He was motioning each time to a train and its driver that alls good. But nope he's a Nazi as far as everyone is concerned. He went to court and was found guilty.
For crying out loud, our old Aussie ways are being obliterated. That was a common way of acknowledging someone, I still now n then do it. It's just a kind of quick "hi all good" motion. Like a wave hello without all the sideways movements. So now I have to be on guard that I don't do it in case im filmed and charged with a hate crime!

Mornin all.

Sun for the morning before clouds take over. Should barely break freezing.

ladyfriend fell at the gas station when refueling on her return yesterday to the veterinarians office for more stuff.
A stranger picked her up and put her in her vehicle. Telling her to go straight home which of course she wouldn't.
She said she didn't know what to do about it last night and I suggested she walk to the kitchen in the morning .
She did and fed the dogs. Must not be anything broken. She's back to bed.

The patient remains. Didn't even leak during the night after another drink.
I'll sneak out later for some groceries.
