Wow, what beautiful wood, what I wouldn’t give to have real firewood again after leaving BC to move to Arizona. All I have on my 65 acres are Joshua trees, they’re like burning balsa wood, you light it, there’s a huge flash and you wake up a few minutes later with smoking eyebrows surrounded by ash… they burn hot, just not very long.

No Mesquite wood when I lived down there we sold it to the snowbirds it was like gold.

No Mesquite wood when I lived down there we sold it to the snowbirds it was like gold.

You’re not wrong, there is HUGE money to be made bundling up little bundles of kindling and wood to sell to snowbirds and tourists for sure.. Nope, no mesquite, sadly the closest harvestable trees to me are Flagstaff. When I lived in BC, each year I bought a full logging truck load and we bucked it up for firewood. Living right in the middle of the logging area was handy, granted overall I’d much rather be warm most of the year here than NEEDING that firewood warmth there most of the year. It takes a special kind of crazy to mine Fraser River flood gold in the middle of winter.

Cynical? Yeah...that's a good word for it. Ditto.

It cost over $20,000 to find out that my heart was fine, and fortunately insurance
paid for the vast majority of it. My doc (actually, she's a PA) is straight up, the rest
of 'em I don't trust one bit.

I asked for the PT on my back/leg, as it's not working too good at the moment,
and I'd like to do some detecting this summer. At the moment I'm good for a few
minutes, then the thigh pain (coming from my back) gets to be too much. I'm
certainly no wimp, but there are boundaries where I know I need some help to
get back to where I need to be.

Here's one "fix" to that sort of sciatica pain. I am not associated with the product at all.

But there is one "as you see on teevee" item that pointed me to a complete fix. I didn't even get the product!

I forget the name of it but it's supposed to be based on pressure points and compression.

They talk about how you position this thing so the pad is pressing on a particular part of the side/back of the knee.

Just put it on and the pain is gone! Yeah! Right! I've heard it all before too.

I took an old tennis knee strap support and reversed it, placing its pad over the spot they discuss. After a couple tries, I got it in the right place with the right pressure.
And guess what? The pain stopped! Immediately!

Not a cure all suggestion. But with my training in self defense I *know* that pressure points exist and they *do* work!

If you want to try it, look up the product, see where they place it and then try finding the spot with your hand. Press around until you feel it might be affecting the pain. Experiment! It might actually work for you. You've nothing to lose.

I am sad to hear this, but, as you said she hurts no more.
The Bible doesn't speak of it, but in my heart I know there is a
special place for our furred friends...

It's free, not too far away either. Not like most folks I know I got a rescue from Iran,Iraq, France, Cuba, Mexico........
I'm always thinking what's wrong with helping out the local rescue that's pleading folks to take the pets.
It's like a badge of honour folks need to wear.
I'm seriously thinking about this guy, as he's fixed, and free.
They just don't want another dog as they have 5 full-time dogs at the rescue now.

Then I can stick out my chest out and parade my free/fixed rescue came from here and I would make that well known to the foreign rescue ones.

We're totally white here again and it's coming down good.
I said the Mrs he looks like his coat might be a little shorter.
"Oh his coat is long haired- not sure if I can handle another shedder."
Another thing is what would the 2 cats think also.
At 15 yrs old it might be a total shock.

It was late coming but still forecasted to last for another 18 hrs. Heavy. About 4" already.

Almost done with a minor refit...the 30 year old girl can still run in the 60s if need be, and I take every short cut known to man by being able to run in 6 inches of water !! The one and only 18 "master angler" maverick flats skiff...the Cadillac of flats skiffs. The new 18s all fit inside this boat, and are not nearly as wide. The second skiff, a classic 13 whaler is also coming along in its refit. Ill keep this skiff in the middle keys for adventures down island. Modifying it to be able to lift out of the water on davits !!
Time to get GOLD!!
