Two motors in que after the latest ran in the test tank. Though it wants more cleaning and some paint. And then I'm going to try to avoid more.
Though a ten horse would be considered for the 12' boat...

Golf cart almost whupped me today. Anther pull on a wrench might have done me in.
Did get one new spring on. Cart sits high on that side now.

Dog gone rusty bolts and corroded bolts and liners. I cut the head on one into quarters and knocked it apart with a chisel.
The liners frozen onto bolts , stop bolts from sliding out of spring hangers. Oh boy. Bushings long worn away. Some residue petrified to keep new ones from wanting to go in. If only I had a round wire brush to chuck in the drill. Bent the rat tailed file chucking it and running it. The half round by hand tries.... But filing rubber isn't all that effective.

Raised the rear body off the frame on the side I was working on to get to the upper spring hanger on one side. It didn't want to be raised as the fasteners are well rusted. 25 years of neglect . Plus salt in the past twenty. I didn't know the rear uppers flexed and had bushings. Now I know.

Getting it back together will be fun. First I need to hardware shop again.
Need a well trained chimp to help reassemble the inner wheel wells. Spacers were/are fuel line. Or look like fuel line anyways. ( Fasteners nuts on off side of frame from them. )

New U-bolt provided with springs didn't stand a chance. Besides being round on top instead of flat.
Lucky for me I didn't break the old one getting it off...

Dodged the piles of tools each side and rolled it into the pole barn against a tractor and shut the doors.

I've had reasonably good luck with a product called PB Blaster. Spray it on rusted hardware and let it set overnight. I got rusted exhaust nuts off an old Triumph with it.

Yep there's a can of it being used on the cart project.
Transmission fluid works good too but I'm not using any on the rust. (Top body bolts are upside down to be trying to dab fluid on.)
Mixed 1/2&1/2 with acetone it is supposed to penetrate well. Does well enough alone for me.
I've taken a week with daily soakings and freed up old brake lines before with transmission fluid alone.

I put one spring hanger and it's bolt frozen to bushing liner in the vice.
Heated with torch and kept applying P.B. Blaster while working the liner with vice grips after using a punch to move it a couple millimeters (but not crushing it) for the slightest movement gains as it slowly got looser.
After getting full rotations I used the punch again and then a chisel to move the liner off the bolt.
(The bolt then showed it had been fully wetted by the P.B. Blaster.)

It actually stop raining later today for a couple of days. Looking at the 14 day forecast it's 5 days of sun over the next 14 that we might not get rain. Certainly a 180 degree from last year's drought.

We were getting too dry again until these last couple rains.
Lots of browned out areas and weeds going to seed.
Corn leaves curled up as well as plantain .
I even ran the sprinkler a couple times where I seeded a strip in the front yard by the ramp.
( I know ; crazy times if I'm watering grass/weeds!)

I have watered the same amount this year as I would have in one day last year.
Rain a little sun and the weeds are just loving it.
Mowing the lawn has turned into a weekly chore.
Thinning the tomato plants is a weekly chore-some are 6 ft tall. Though I counted 95 green tomatoes on the end 2 plants I just need some sun to ripen them all up.

Rain morning so I might as well go to the shop to keep sorting crap out.
Would be nice to rid the shop of the 8 round bales.
Objective is to drive through from one end to the other with the side by side.
