The wife spritzed it, wrapped it pink butcher paper while I was gone and ... Oh hell yeh !! I made the rub and set up the wireless temp sensor. Smoked perfection ! It took a few F' ups but learning was learned.
I had radishes, carrots, cucumbers, green onions, celery and carrots dipped in jalapeno ranch for lunch today as I knew I was bound for brisket !

Well, except for one little annoyance added somewhere along the line: the little metal springy band over the striker that requires adult strength to overcome. Fortunately, it's easy to remove with your pocket knife (if you have arthritis and no little children in the house like me).Now there's a product I wish I'd have invented.
Came out in 1973, and aside from removing the "flame adjustment wheel", they
haven't changed a bit since inception. None of the "new and improved", etc., just
a product that is pretty much trouble free and works well.

Keep a couple of Bic lighters in your bug out bag and one in the tackle box. Start fires without much effort and melt the ends of braided line. Variations like grill lighters are just as handy.

Good morning all.
I rescued a little finch yesterday that had managed to trap herself in the shed. The door was open, she could have left at any time, but instead she was breathlessly flapping against the window trying to go through it. From the look of things, she had been at it for a while. She didn't want my help, but was too tired to refuse it. I took her outside and gave her some water, and after a while, she flew up into the trees. Hopefully she's fine. But she really didn't like me much.
