What's so scary about it? It looks like any other twisty mountain road to me. Being familiar with it definitely lets you go faster, but it isn't scary unless there's ice on it.You just have to overcome the fear !!!

I was making fun of the people that made the video and the tourists/scaredy cats that slow us all down on that road.
Oh I can be the slow tourist sometimes. Never met a mountain scene I didn't like, so I have to take it all in. Though I do have the courtesy to pull off and let others pass.
When we were just kids we'd entertain ourselves looking at the curvy mountain roads through a set of binoculars. It gives a different perspective on driving.
I classify visitors in two classes. Vacationers and tourists.I used to load 14' x 8' particle board in Crescent City, then run 199 out to Grants Pass
on my way to Colorado Springs, Co.
That first 20 miles up 199 was always a nightmare. 90% of the time there would be a
CHP on my ass from the time I turned on 199 all the way to the Oregon border, just
waiting for me to screw up. Vacation traffic (morons in RV's) were a nightmare during
the summer months, as I couldn't make the corners without using part of the oncoming
lane, and those idiots would just sit there half way through the turn, clueless.
It is indeed a beautiful drive....but far better in a car than something 90' long that
bends in the middle.
