[Well, the frost is on the pumpkin
And the hay is in the barn, yeah
Pappy's come to rambling on
Stumbling around drunk down on the farm]

Exactly the song I was thinking of when I shot the photo.

I have been doing luthier work for a guy for a few years now. A few of the guitars are very expensive classics and I took my time as I really didn't want to mess anything up.
He got this in trade, and I have always admired it. Steve Vai signature, real fabric floral graphic and 100 % original. Well..... it's been sold too me !! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: Unbelievable playing guitar.

Fill me in on the bass ackwards stringing please.

Fill me in on the bass ackwards stringing please The ball ends get cut off anyway for the locking floyd rose bridge.

The ball ends get cut off anyway for the locking floyd rose tremolo bridge. Some people like the no sharp ends at the headstock and the ball end doesn't slip at all, which really makes no difference with a locking nut. He had tried it to see if he liked it and I actually y like it on my tremolo equipped guitars. Thread it.... wrap once... and lock it !!

My brother-in-law used to do that with his strings. I asked him why, he said he was lazy.

It is a bit faster and easier... you don't have to deal with the sharp string ends sticking out of the tuner. Believe it or not I have poked myself with those sharp little mother****ers more then once.... whiskey was most likely involved ! :laughing7: :laughing7:

Agreed. You haven't lived until you've had an E string stab you under the thumbnail. Hurts like a shrapnel wound.
