The drive to the big smoke.
I did see 10 large black garbage bags of smoke material

Nothing like driving a truck with a broken coil spring on the drivers strut to make it interesting when hitting the brakes hard.
Got to the scrap yard 3hr drive, 2 hrs unloading. $6.2K
Next stop: 15mi took 45 minutes P/U tote of breakers settled up account.

Next stop: Downtown to the refiners 15 miles took 1:45hrs
$30 to park for 1.5hr(Bend over emoji needed)
Got hemmed in with the night parking (got out taking a security barrier fence down on the alley side.)

Next stop:Off to Scarborough
9 mi took 45 min.
Then back home
175 miles took 5 hours!

Now I can reconfirm why I live where I do.
Crazy amount of traffic, and it actually normalized 50 miles east of the Suburb, which took 2 hrs.
Got home at 1:30AM
Was it worth it? Oh ya

Saw 2 white cars go by me (I'm doing 70 mph)like I was standing still. 5 miles up the road one sitting sideways against cement traffic barriers in a construction zone.
Lets say it was in less than original condition.

Many times these mud slides occur because the people cut down the forests on the mountain sides. A heavy rain causes a catastrophic slide.

US Geological Survey revealed the flash floods were triggered by a massive high altitude glacial collapse in a mountainous area near the Nepal-Tibet border.

Shocking footage shared on social media shows two enormous boulders being swept down the Trishuli River in Nepal, demonstrating the sheer power of the surging floodwater.

A video confirmed by BBC Verify shows a huge rock being pushed slowly past houses in a flooded valley, about 35 miles (56km) from where the flood began.

I heard the death toll was over 800 already. Many were tourists.

Basically a lot of Nepal is denuded of trees. Either by over cutting, or the topography is too high to sustain trees-above the tree line.
Looking down at one river system on our trekking adventure in Nepal, there's little chance of out running such a flood.

I always wondered what horses do when a bear is around. Many years ago, I found out! One thing is for sure, it is best not to be on top of one when there is a confrontation! Horses know how to take care of themselves, and if I was a bear, I don't think I'd want to piss a horse off!

Heck buy a bottle of water while you're at it.

NickFinks bar had very large boulder carved out for a horse trough.
I was shown where it sat so long but it was moved as things were getting crowded because that's how people make things become by not looking forward.
Been a while but have had a beer there. And attended a private party in a room for such I'd not been in prior.
An old cold bar. Plaster; feeling chilled permanently from back when that is probably long gone now.
Good to see it has been reopened though.

Instead of people having conflicts with the former boulder/trough at the the bar side on the corner of two roads (a good place to water a horse) after it was removed... they then began tearing the corner of the tavern off by hitting it with vehicles. Sigh.

This appears to be the boulder. A hand pump can be seen on the offside of it.
In the picture with street lights (another citified damnation) the corner of the shingled area is flattened.
Is it strategic architectural design; or damage repair?
Also note the stone added for siding. Why only the one corner?
