Well it's another day of chainsaw slashing. Breeze was picking up yesterday and had a few trees that just didn't go where I expected them to go. Then again to fall something, it has to fall where there isn't another tree. All the trees being cut are 15-50ft high, surrounded by the big 80-90 ft trees.

So I have (as of 7pm) 3 that need to be pulled via chain/rope/strap to fall them as they're hung up.
Plan is to get the long rope out, and work off the road to pull them down.

I have a big dead pine, with another dead pine leaning on that one, so there's no way I'm going to be cutting it down without being squashed. Then right above those 2 is another dog legged big pine/spruce that is totally debarked.

Will take a picture later and have a :coffee2:pondering how to fall it as there's little options on an escape route if it goes south. (so to speak).
Need the big saw today.

Lent it to a guy helping me this spring and I'm not sure what happened.
But I used it yesterday to get my pinched saw out of a 16" half dead oak.
Plan was to cut, drive a wedge in, tree to fall in an easterly fashion.
Cut was going to be a 60 degree angle turned out going 33 degree:dontknow:
Tree went SW instead.
All is good-but that chain is going to be looked at.

By the way I'm looking for a ship load of bored pirates that are needing some work pulling slash and piling it all up.
See if the body will endure another 6-8 hrs of cutting today.
The sun peeks through the tree line now in spots:hello2:

Careful.
Careful.
It reads like you have a couple better mouse/human traps set ; than the best...
How far can your reach with cable and come-along(s)? I vote for an old tire secured midway to rob popped loose hooks or cables or chains flying through the air of some ambition. I have used cargo blanket too though. A couple big ones leaned over from the neighbors in the back of the hunting property. I pass under one nervously on the rare occasion I'm back in there . I haven't come up with a better game plan than leaving it alone so far.

Debating the past do mowing at the hunting property. I would rather cut drier stuff though.
Rain is forecast the next two days....

The youth /disabled Veteran and disabled hunt was this past weekend.
I skipped it but the Disabled disabled hunt in Oct. I will probably hunt.

Good morning all. We went to a fall festival over the weekend. Saw a good sign at a local brewery:

Lots of food. LOTS of food. Lots of craft vendors. Lots of patriotic themed goods, and lots of religious themed goods. I don't normally go for those, but I did like this shirt:

Totally on board with the wearing out instead of rusting out.

BTW
Did you catch that blue car of the Viking's that was on yhe trailer?
What a piece of $hitty rust!
Perfect example of what happens when it chills too much.🤣

Cleaned the saw, filed, now it eats wood like a mad 🦫.
Now to do some pulling.
