Here's something... in 1573, Sir Francis Drake buried a bunch of gold & silver in Panama after he raided a Spanish mule train. It was too much to carry during the retreat so he buried it

Another one: in 1927, a treasure hunting team took a Chilson bridge (early metal detector) and located buried "pirate treasure," again in Panama. Was it Drake's?

I know more about these, but I'll offer you the fun of researching them to find out more. Who knows, maybe they'll lead to other buried pirate treasure.
