This site is not worth being part of

Well that last one seems a good idea for folks with slow links, I suppose I'm just old fashioned when it comes to changes...and lazy:happysmiley:

No worries! From our standpoint we have to make the site flexible and easy to view for everyone. So we have to think about everyone that visits and those who might be on dialup still. We will continue to add options to the settings so you can custom tailor the site to your liking

I can tell this site will be just as good or probably better because if I ran it I would have just banned all of the people that are talking negatively and deleted this post but they didn't and are trying to work to get it right. It's been one whole day.... How about being just a little patient or better yet you got the talking part done now log off and find a better site but I bet you'll be back.... :icon_pirat:

Considering they just bought this place I think they need us just as much as we need our daily detecting fix. :) I too hate change, and Ebay is one example I have had to deal with for years, but I just keep truckin and do get used to the changes.

Dont know who pissed in your cheerios Cru.Moderators should delete this post. Doesnt look good for new members to see such a title for a post that was written by someone who should know better.
How dare you Jim...everybody knows Cru is a Cornflake man :happysmiley:

Unfortunately this is not retroactive. It will only work going here forward :/ You can however go back into those old threads and post or manually subscribe to it by using the Thread Tools drop down that's located just above the first post on the page to the right.

Yeah, this will be the easiest way to do it.

You are right Iron Patch, they do need us but for someone to come on here and say that "this site is not worth being part of" after only a few hours of the new people taking over just pizzes me off. All I'm saying is give them a chance before bashing them...

10 posts limit per page? You are going to have some threads with 50 pages!

Change is never easy it seems.
It takes time, and a learning curve to get use to a new system.
Just try and hang with the site as this goes on.

It's all good, we certainly understand that people are going to be thrown by the change. As long as we can provide you all with a great home then we'll be happy. We're all in this together and we'll get through it together. Our main concern is helping you all get settled and working out any bugs so that the transition is as seamless as possible. We do thank you all for being patient as we work diligently to get everything working as it should.

You can change this setting by clicking on Settings on the top right corner

Then click on "General Settings" on the left panel:

Then scroll down a bit to change the amount under Thread Display Options/Number of posts to show per page dropdown menu:

I wasn't really thinking about that so much when I posted that, probably because it's such a given that many people are not going to be happy having to adjust to a new site and if they want to vent a little it's not going to bother me. I mean day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year, many of us have got used to the same thing and now it's different, so I think a little freakin out is pretty normal.

On the number of post per page
Go to Settings, general settings, thread display options, number of posts per page to change your settings.

Thanks to those who have figured out some of the questions that others are asking. If you could please help others when you see something similar, it would be greatly appreciated! Strength in numbers :wav:

I just wanted to throw my quick two gold doubloons into this discussion. I first want to reiterate that the new owners are acutely aware that this transition will be tough for some folks. We actually appreciate your honest feedback, even when it includes some of your frustration. We are perfectly willing to bear the brunt of your anxiety over the changes. We understand that the switch-over will be an emotional time, and that is why we have not tried to sweep any statements under the rug, even when they didn't include any relevant facts to help us fix things.

It is very important to us that we try to get things working as smoothly for you as is possible. As has been stated previously, it was very important for us to do this changeover, with the primary reason being the improved security. The previous software simply left too many security holes, and to update it properly would have been nearly as bad as the changeover to this new setup. Furthermore, this new software will eventually allow for far more customization and features for each individual member, so that tacks on a huge side benefit for going through this process now. We won't pretend that the changeover will be easy, but it most assuredly will be worthwhile in the long run for many reasons.

I have personally witnessed previous website changeovers to vBulletin, and I am confident that you will really appreciate the switch in the long run. We thank you for your patience, and want you to know that we really do care about this site. We want this to continue to be an amazing place for you guys to discuss this fantastic hobby/obsession. It is more than just an acquisition to the owners. One of the criterion that they use to choose their purchases is that the site must be interesting and important to them. TreasureNet is an amazing site and is dedicated to an amazing subject/subjects. We all appreciate your passion and dedication. Please give us some constructive feedback in the following thread so we can iron out any issues as quickly as possible: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/g...w-software-help-bug-glitch-report-thread.html.

Just to add my 2 cents, I quite like the new look. I think, when the bugs are ironed out, other members will too:wink: .I've already changed the settings to how I want them, all I've got to do now is find "Live Posts":happy3:

Awesome! This software is super customizable.

It's now called Active Topics and you can find that link at the very top of the site or click here: TreasureNet - Active Topics
