Treasure Clue, can you help?

Hi, Bonnie,
Nice to know your first name, It's been a very productive several days - course I'm not getting anything else done. I agree with you and several others about the need to solve all the picture borders first - been saying this for awhile now. I totally think several lines are missing, since otherwise it doesn't continue the rhyme. Had a real breakthrough on the nomenclature book cover - it is covered with words!!!!! They may not be part of the rhyme, however - we need to solve the prior page first. Were you able to find the companion book? It has some really good ideas in it on solving some of the missing info. THAT IS A BIG HINT! :)

Pancho - have you read and discarded my posts on page 19? I posted either here or on tweleve.com that I thought the tool shapes formed letters. Some of it is ambiguous, but so far I have - just as an above post , starting at 9o'clock position:
FOR SOLUTION ON PLOT SEEK (OR LOOK OR LOCATE - can be any of these) then ? HOlE , then something I can't get, then KEY (as above). You could also start the line at the 5PM position just below hig signature with SEEK (or locate or look) and go on form there, depending on what rhymes. Remember, this page is early in the book, and it may be the first reference to the "trees holes" solved later.
Anyway, Mike put 8 years (I think) into the art. As a fellow artist, you better believe they are important. Oh well, nuff now.

I read on tweleve that soem thinkt hat the dragonfly with the glasses on is visually impaired and that is a clue in itself??!!

I agree about the poem but I believe
I found the jeweled pook on pg 77
hes in the right hand corner near the
dandelion his nose is the black dot
near the brown edge of the frame
if you turn it with the page facing
long ways you will see his head,
nose ,ear,mouth and tounge..
happy huntings...

Safire,
And I have a hint for you! There is a hidden pook on EVERY page. Have fun hunting!

Chris,
I am so excited for you! Keep up the good work. I can see nothing on the Nomenclature page, even though I have blown it up and analyzed and stared until I have a headache! I am still working on the page next to it with all of the fairies. Did I tell you the letters I saw there? I might have posted it on Tweleve, but if you don't know, let me know and I will post again. Unfortunately, I went out yesterday and looked for the Companion book, but to no avail. Books a Million told me that you can order it, but it is not guaranteed and that sometimes means that it might be being re-printed. This fits with something that I heard about Stradther correcting mistakes in the book and re-issuing it. It may take me awhile to get it. Now, with all that you have said, I MUST have it! Ha Ha!
I cannot see all of those letters on page 19. I have tried and tried, but can only see a few.
Do you have any thoughts about various states? I live in Florida and I feel that there is one here, although my cities keep changing! Sometimes the frustration level with this puzzle is very high!
Today, I must get something else done, so doubt I will have any new finds today, but there's always tomorrow! I hope you get somewhere important soon. Bonnie

ALL, THE COMPANION BOOK IS HELPFULL IN THE WAY IT SHOWS YOU HOW TO LOOK FOR CLUES. ANYWAY I WANTED TO SAY I WAS LOOKING AT THE PIC OF CRYSTAL POOK AND NOTICED HE LOOKS ALOT LIKE THE PART OF THE MAP WHERE IT SHOWS MILEAGE AND DISTANCE WITH ALL THOSE LINES CRISSCROSSING WHICH GOT ME TO THINKING THAT MAYBE POOK IS A MAP OF U. S.? WHICH GOT ME TO LOOKING AT OTHER PICS OF POOK AND NOTICED HES GOT TWELVE SPOTS ON HIS BODY INCLUDING HIS IN HIS EAR EXCEPT FOR THE LAST PAGE THEN I BELIEVE THEY DOUBLED. IM NOT INCLUDING THE ONES AROUND HIS NOSE THOUGH. WHAT DOES ANYONE THINK. I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE WILL BE A PAGE FOR PHOTOS ? WOULD BE EASIER TO SHOW THAN ALL THIS WRITING OR A LIST WHERE WE COULD POST ANAGRAMS WEVE FOUND JUST A THOUGHT. LIKE EVERYONE KEEPS SAYING IF WE WORK TOGETHER WE MAY GET THERE FASTER.ALSO THE GREAT FOREST = FASTER TOGETHER.

New line of poem

Yesterday, Pancho provided 17 lines of the poem. All are rhyming couples (though one pair has an internal rhyme), except for page 69, which ends with the word ?go.? There should be a hidden line before or after this page, which rhymes with go. On page 66, I found the word ?know??written in uppercase cursive letters?in the lower left-hand corner. I believe the phrase begins in the upper right-hand corner, and there are some other easily visible letters (all uppercase cursive), such as S, A, N, Y, V, W, C, G, T, and F, some of which recur several times. However, I can form no other words from them. Any ideas?

hello folks...I've been enjoying lurking the posts and felt I ought to contribute something. Forgive me if these have been discussed previously, my eyes have been bleeding from reading all the posts....but I don't recall seeing this.

the orange haired Pickenscrooter...seems to have his tongue sticking out in some pictures and not in others. Page 20 and page 55 has him looking somewhat 'normal' ... while pages 25 and 41 have him with this tongue out. Being that Pickensrooters are 'ye naughtiest'... wondering if the toungue indicates deception...or something else?

also, in the canopy of the tree on page20, there are two 'bare spots' in the leaves revealing an "X" and what appears to be a single branch..."I" ??? not to mention the orange haired fairy's pointing gesture and fingers...

LitDoc,

I am actually at work right now, but have the book with me in my car. ?I'll take a look at 66 when I get a chance during lunch.

Cal56 - My apologies, I have not yet gone through the entire archive here for all the information. ?I will definitely take some time to read your insights. ?I must say you bring up a very good point in regards to reading the various messages in the artwork. ?

The BIG question . . . Where do you start from?

I have noticed that the messages start in different spots on the pages. ?The blocks message seems highly suspect to me right now. ?Particularly when I see that no one has included on (lower right corner) in their solutions. ?Also, let's be clear about something, it's not "an even code with one piece" it's "an even code with ON piece". ?Look at the e's in even, code and piece and you'll agree, there is no e after on. ?And no, I don't believe that is "the one that you are missing". ?But I could be totally wrong.

I think some of the lines may be translated incorrectly. ?Please note this is a thought, not something I have found to be true. ?The words are obviously right, but the sequence may be off. ?I'm going to go back once again and see what I can find. ?

I'll close with a general tip to all. ?Don't lock yourselves into one particular idea or solution to anything you've seen. ?Everything posted may be "right" but it is quite possible it is incorrect. ?Get me?

With pun intended, let's make sure we aren't missing the forest for the trees.

Pancho,
I have to disagree about the "one piece" part. If you look just below the "n", the "e" is clearly visible although it is slightly obscured. But, then, so is the first "e" in piece. Many of the messages have letters that are difficult to see, but the majority will go with "one" simply because it makes sense and "on" is a much tougher arguement. Of course, I could be wrong, but it's just my opinion and that is what these boards are for!

Gaines, no issue here with disagreement, we need to have a little back-up here and there to verify everything. Saying that, I still think it's "on". You were saying that the E is obscured, that in and of itself tells me that it isn't supposed to be an E because none of the other letters in the rest of the piece are obscured.

The same argument can be made for Nary, which has been said to be wary or Mary. The style of the lettering clearly leads to one conclusion. I don't believe Mr. Stadther was trying to throw innocuous clues in to throw us off.

I feel the same way about the Roman Numerals everyone has been seeing. Of course, I'll be the first to say I could be way off, I just don't see the solution to this hunt being made up of this many layers.

Hm.... You make a good point about the "ON" part, but it just doesnt seem to fit the rythm of the ryhme if its "ON" however you could be right though also ive discovered a few more words on page 66 (the pink curvey page) "Know" is in the bottom left, "With " is close to the bottom right, "Name" seems to be going upward on the right side, and "Hand" seems to be at the top right of the drawing. However, during phsyics today, i got a mirror and looked at the picture backwards, some words deffinetly are much easier to see with a mirror---> this being said there is also a "yes" and "a" at the bottom left by "Know". But this also changes "Know" and if "Know" isnt in this puzzle then it doesnt fit the ryhme pattern :(

Look to HandGems post on Feb 15
It is on page 8 of the board
about the poem and page 66

Okay, he has for the solution "With name in Hand the FAiRies Know" which makes sense, but theres two problems with this, number 1, its not in order like the rest of the other clues are, for this you would have to unscramble all of them, and put them in the correct order---> Also, if you hold a mirror like i said to it, you can easily see "Yes" and "A" at the bottom of the page "Know". Why would this be there if it wasnt for solving??? Its perfectly clear, easier to see than the rest of the puzzle. Maybe he is right though, it makes sense

I wasn't aware that I had missed that line in my own poem post a couple of days ago . . .

Anyway, this is exactly what i was talking about earlier this morning. There are people who have posted certain "solutions" that are certanly viable, but also end up falling apart when held up to some scrutiny. I am not accusing anyone of anything, but I do believe a lot has been said AND accepted at face value without question.

Again, not accusing anyone of anything, but it would seem to me that that would be a great way to lead a whole lot of fellow hunters astray while you worked on the "real" solution. I have my own ideas bouncing around my head currently, but they are staying my ideas. My main goal at this point in the game is to verify what has been said, not only for my own use, but to help us all out in making sure we are all on the right page, so to speak.

BTW, my real name is Michael. And no, I'm not THAT Michael! ;)

LoL, your right michael, the best way for all of you to make sure you have the right clues is for you to do them yourself, try and figure out what you can, and cross refrence it with a site to make sure your on track.

Also for all of you looking for a cool place to talk about the book and current events, i launched my own forums http://www.thecoffeshop.tk/ please stop by and regsiter, i would like to get a nice discussion of treasures trove on there, please register up and lets talk

I had ideas for them, but they didnt seem to work, i held i mirror up to the split images, sumtimes it made a letter, but not always, if anyone finds out about these let us know!

Newest clue

What is meant by "tackle repositories"? To undertake the megadatabase that has the key(s)?

Lit Doc
Hint: Tackle repositorys" (note the spelling) is and anagram for both "Crystal Pook is thirteen" meaning that there is a 13th jewel hidden, confirmed by MJS, and also, as Bonnie Gaines has pointed out, is also an anagram for "Start cipher in tools."

Also, as I discovered in the poem line "an even code withon piece nary." note the misspelling anagrams to
"Even I cant decipher any now." which I think was a private joke of the author. Guess he got frustrate, too.

Hi, Bonnie,
Don't get frustrated - you are doing great work, especially if you can decipher the fairies on 36 or 44.
About the front of Nomenclature.... have you tried changing the red to yellow and increasing the contrast to 100. I did that, blew it up to 8x11 and printed it out. Then I hand darkened the black areas carefully (don't obscure the yellow) to give better contrast. Beflre you darken, look carefully with a magnifying glass. Think about puzzles on his website.
If you like, I can look Saturday and see if the companion book is here and mail it to you.
I thought I had some zip codes but only a few worked - none in Florida. I really think the text will give locations, we just have to figure out how to use the text.
Stay positive - we're still making new discoveries.

Chris
