Treasure Clue, can you help?

jonesysgirl,

As I said, I apologize if I was jumping to conclusions. This is, afterall, an internet forum, and what I was susprecting is hardly out of the ordinary, nor was it a stretch of the imagination given the circumstances.

Gaines, I wasn't aware of the whole horned owl deal on the front cover. And what you are saying sounds like the final confirmation of optical illusions throughout the book. Like I said earlier, it's not like we needed another layer to work with!!! :P

CMSCHUT, you've found an entire set of new creatures?

RonMN, you crack me up!

pancho, yes i have . i've tried posting this before but got no responses to it so i posted the few to see if i could get a bite but no one was hungry. these bugs are 'HIDDEN' and i probably would never have looked for any if it wasnt for me stumbling onto the spider. some of them i found i thought i may have been stretching for but i ran the findings across folks at work who are not into the hunt to verify i was seeing what i was seeing and was confirmed to be right. i am missig a few and would have to go back to old notes to get the rest. did you see the spider? of course these are not sets as the others were. anything on my post to you ? patiently waiting your ideas. if you a really interested in the other bugs let me know. it would be much easier to send a photo though than to explain. i tend to make long enough posts as it is.

LitDoc,

In response to post 893 I didn't say the other book was a children's book. If I wasn't clear enough I'm sorry. The other book was a puzzle book in which you find tokens and redeem jewels. I owned it when I was young about 20 years ago and remember very little about it other than the cover was a yellow honeycomb with a bee in the corner. I just wondered if they were connected in someway. If he's not the same person then it's like the old saying "there's nothing new under the sun"

I just thought if someone knew something about the other book, it could help in this search.

this reply is to another post . i dont intend to be rude so forgive me if it sounds this way. if we only stick with the creatures that have been posted as the only creatures to be found then i dont feel we are moving ahead in this hunt. i believe there is more to this hunt and the clues in the book than we have uncovered so far and to think that all that has been found is all there is to find cant be right . i would like to know though it seems that everyone thinks theres an official verifier out there . is there. i think we all need to take a vote when aa idea or clue comes in--- pile 1 keep pile 2 --- save for future thought pile 3----pitch.

not sure if this has been posted before...
I found a 5 digit number in the CAPS of the acorns on page 33...it kinda looks like 22954 but the 9 and the 4 could be either or (they look kinda similar).
Ron...

RonMN- great observation! Did you check any of the zips to confirm cities? That might be useful...;)

Okay, this may seem like an uber-weird question, but does anyone know of a red candy-like token clue on page 13? While looking at the photos on www.12gems.com, I found that there was a photo concerning such... which had me rather confused.

Gaines- wow. Now we're throwing in reverse-mirror images... I think we are all doomed!:D

As much as I hate to admit this, nysearcher may have a point. Considering the fact that we have all been on this as long as we have had the book, which may have been as long as 5 months, basically equally spread over the U.S., that no one has found 1 token YET?!? I don't believe that MS is scamming, however... the book was an excellent idea. It's basically a children's book... and even with no knowledge of the treasure, I surely would have bought it anyway. Saying it was a scam is like saying that Dr. Seuss was a brainwasher... )don't even respond to that...;))...but really, doesn't it seem kind of awkward that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has to be disturbed to find the treasures? Not even moved? Which basically eliminates every place in the U.S... In Chicago, you can't even get around without moving PEOPLE out of the way...:D Hmm. It seems that zipcodes are popping up EVERYWHERE. I think there's been more that 13 so far. Would someone mind compiling a new list of alleged zipcodes?

I hope I'm not sounding too discouraging here. I just feel like we're looking a little too deep, and that the answers are right under our noses. Perhaps there is something dealing with typos in the book... maybe someone should check that out!

Good luck and happy hunting!:D

The book was released November 15, 2004, so it has only been in circulation for four months. I say ONLY because MS is giving us more than three years to find the tokens.

Don't be discouraged; if it were easy, they would all be gone and then how would we be spending our evenings, weekends, and lunch hours?

I agree that many are looking too deeply. You do need to decide which ideas to keep, which to ponder, and which to pitch (perhaps most of them).

Let's do think outside the box, but don't get so far outside the box that you no longer can see it! Like I've said before: Let's help each other, make some progress, and most importantly--have fun.

If the post above was correct and 9 look like 4 then 2254 is Dunnsville VA

Has anyone found a correlation or meaning the different colors? They are mentioned frequently in the text and in the colorful pictures. In places they even seemed ordered like page 31. Just a thought...

Jewels

The grasshoppers are on pages 59 ( upside down in the purple "tree") and 86 (at the bottom of the tree in black). The fireflies are on pages 28 (in the left green area) and 33 (very abstract looking in the upper right hand corner - those solid shapes).

Pancho,
Just for clarity - it is a Great Horned Owl and I will save you the research. They are located all over the U.S., so doesn't look like that will give us a big clue. Sorry.

way to go ronmn . gaines any more info on the hidden bugs ? let me know. sorry to keep asking but theyre bugging me. good luck all.

Has this anagram come up yet?

"A Treasures Trove"? ? =? ?Over rare statues? ? ? "or"? ? ?Over rear statues? ? ? "or" Over statues rear

Here is what I have since someone has mentioned 'optical illusions':
Page 19 : lower right hand corner near Pook's foot - George Washington
Page 19 : The tree near the ax has George Washington's profile
Page 19 : the five point star in the upper left hand corner is the same symbol on the Washington state flag or state seal
Page 33: the left tree has a pelican in it the trunk which is the symbol on the louisiana state flag or seal
Page 33: the tree closet to the butterfly has an alligator in it
Page 40 : is the state seal or flag for Ohio on the flour tin - you have to look behind the fairies wings to see the bushels of wheat
Page 45 : if you take a straight line and follow Pook's eyes you will see on the leaf that there are very tiny letters - RI - not to mention the RI state flower is the same as the blue ones in the picture.

There are soooooo many more that it would take too long to write. As I got further through the book the 'illusions' became harder to see. Of course what I see and how to put them together is a whole other story!!!!!

Has anyone else figured out all of the states?

Cindy

Has anyone thought that just maybe when you find the right area and go there, you may find some kind of signs with faries pointing the way? By the way, I already tried the 3-d glasses and did not come up with anything but dissapointment. (I was sitting in the grocery store parking lot in my car with my glasses on and book in hand, getting many weird looks but it was fun anyways.)

Muze

Cindy , thanks now i have something to do on my lunch hour at work. i am going to look into those and and let you know what i find. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Gaines sorry i already have those thanks again. real quick cause i have to go on pg 26, chap 4 read down to where it says linden stump. now when you get to the ?den look to your left all the way to the blue border the leaves wrapped around the blue border are the hummingbird. i do have others if interested but im running behind. do you see what i mean though by being a part of the art work and how it seems to just been slipped in there . i think ms is a very ?very tricky man !!!!!!. have a great day all talk to you later.

muze, the 3-d glasses dont find the clues , however they do help make other things more visible and other things to pop right out. its just another tool to help. try not doing it in sunlight. dont worry if your just starting this hunt believe everyone is going to think you get more crazy the further. been there with those 3-d's at work. they now no ive lost it . keep hunting and keep those ideas coming.
