Treasure Clue, can you help?

GOOD EVENING EVERYONE, pancho i hope you had a great weekend. i'm so excited i have found more bugs!!!! i couldn't wait to get home ?from work to share . i've been trying to trace over black & white copies of the pictures in the book. i've been concentrating on trying to bring out the backgrounds , the forest for the trees thing, and have had some luck. last night me and my daughter were coloring our pictures when she told me that she had 2 pictures. she had turned her copy over and i saw everything she had markered on the backside. everything just stood out against the white and i didn't have nothing else in the picture to distract me from what i had traced. i was working on the pic of ana being raised out of the forest by the darklings. i've been bothered by those darklings . i kept thinking that they were telling us all something so i started tracing them so when i looked at my backside of the copy i had found the snail, beetle , grasshopper , and hummingbird so far. i'll tell you that you'll need alot of copies so you can figure out are supposed to be traced and what aren't. any way i'm still working on it . i want to send a pic over and post it because in order to explain here what all you'll need to trace ?would take too long to post. if anyone can tell me how to do this please let me know. if not i'm gonna find someone around here to help ,but it won't be till tomorrow. anyway look at the spot where ana's arm looks kinda funny bent behind her and look at the shape of her hand. the space between her back and her arm then follow down her hand . if you trace that you'll see a snail when you flip your page over. the others are hard to explain . i will say the way he chose putting the darklings wings darker than the bodies will help . i hope someone will explain how to post a photo on here because im just bursting to show you all. please let me hear you ideas . till then, ?carol. p.s. don't think i'm crazy until you see.

I am currently trying to figure out how to approach the "Darkling's Page", page 55. The border of the page is a puzzle, of sorts, of the main image within the border. If you look around, you will be able to match up certain aspects of the larger pictures with the smaller "mini-pictures". What I have found so far is that some of these mini's seem to present a different image that the one we see dominating the page.

You can also see where the mini's are clearly separated. There appear to be a lot of these little buggers, and I am trying to decide if I want to make a go of putting them together, or working at it from a different angle. I am trying to look elsewhere than my current token to see whether I am on the right track. If I can find similar uses of my personal theory of the even code and five to a side, then I will continue working on my token further. Page 55, of course, features the hummingbird.

All I can be sure of is that there is something hidden in the border of this page. What it is, I can't even wonder at this point. I am fairly certain that he did not put another line of the poem in there; I think the poem was meant to be readily identified and laid out for our use.

Pancho,

There are letters in the borders but finding them is extremely difficult. There are pieces of the center picture around the border, some are normal while others are mirror images. The problem is they are overlapped, many with curved borders, and also many with picture pieces on top of picture pieces. They are also not to the same scale. It is very time consuming task, one that I have not yet completed.

PANCHO, the pg your're working on reminds me of the puzzle in ms's companion book where he had 5 faces in a picture and he asked us to see if we could make 4. hope you know which one i'm talking about. was gonna try it myself just never got around to it. hope this can help.

Hi All,
I have spent the past few days reading through ALL the posts here. I commend you all on your insight and sleuthing! It is so fascinating to see the different perspectives! There are a couple of things that I found while reading that I wanted to clear up...not nit picking...just sharing what I know. Let's see...
Zuse--Arizona's state insect is the Two-Tailed Swallowtail and Arkansas' state insect is the honeybee. I like how you isolated facts per state! ;D
Gman--In one of your posts you had mentioned that Ironwood is only found in the Sonoran Desert--mostly in the Ironwood...Forest. I had never thought about the Ironwood...Forest, which I did find interesting. BUT, Ironwood is found in different areas of Arizona as well. I know this because I lived in Yuma and we had Ironwoods all over the desert. :)
Pancho--I, like you, am only looking for "my token"--that is the token in Arizona (if there is one). If anyone has any other ideas, let me know. I guarantee if I come across any clues for other states, I will share them with the people here from those states. Just a thought...but, if you aren't going hunting for every jewel, and you have clues for other states you'll never get to...why wouldn't you want to share those clues and allow others to check them out for you? I'm rooting for people on this site to find the treasure!

Now, something that crossed my mind...it has been brought up "How would Stadther know if a token had been removed from its location?" Have you ever considered that maybe the locations of the tokens are close in proximity to where he is appearing with the jewels? That way he would be able to "check" on the tokens at least once when he was in the vicintiy. Just a thought. Since I don't know all the locations of where people are looking for tokens, I can't really verfiy if there is a Stadther appearance nearby every location...but those who have locations in mind can check them to the personal appearance schedule.

And, last thought...about the 80's. I looked up I 80 to see its route...then I got another idea. What if the 80 had to do with Intrastate routes rather than Interstate routes? Do the locations that you all are getting have a state route 80 nearby?

Don't know if any of this helps, but I want to do my part in sharing what I have with you since what you've shared has helped me. And, for what it's worth...I think the book contains a wonderful story. My children and I listened to it in the car during a recent trip...and they enjoyed every part of it! I haven't seen them so enthusiastic about a book and sharing it with others. Having read A LOT of children's books, I think this is a great book because it looks to involve the whole family in an activity--now how many books do that?

I don't know who wrote it but our Pook also has the letters MYMRLYVR on the tag...so it seems the letters are the same on each one. I haven't figured it out, but do these letters correspond with anything you all have found?

Thumbs up all!! I enjoy reading everyone's thoughts!

Omnicognic,

Thanks for the info about my inbox. I didn't know that 10 messages max it out. They are all gone now.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, well i was trying unsuccessfully to get my photo posted on here . i was so hoping we would get it sent bright and early this morning so everyone would have something to see but i coutln't seem to get it sent from my photo file box to here. if anyone can help me with this i would be thankful. i was so excited that we were going to be able to do it now am just really disapointed. if not my husband said we work on it tonight when he gets home.

Carol and others,

To post a picture, first scan it and save it as either JPG or GIF. ?Then look for the "Attach" textbox at the bottom of the reply screen. ?Click the "Browse" button, locate your scanned file, and click on it. ?Then post as normal. ?I will attach a picture of my little Pook to see if these directions work.

Well, I didn't see it. We will have to ask the moderator how to attach a graphic.

Good Morning everyone. I need someone in the western South Dakota area to do a little leg work for me. Seeing how that is 1200 miles from Dallas I won't be making a trip there soon but would be willing to split the loot with someone that will go retrieve it. Anyone interested let me kno.

GONEMAD, look at att home page. a new puzzle has been posted. actually these puzzles are from the companion book. when i saw it this morning it reminded me of the borders you posted on yesterday, great work by the way. looking at this puzzle made me think of those colors in the border. dont really know if it would help at all.

Hello everyone,
Its been a while since I posted. I have however been keeping up with the forum. Everyone has such interesting ideas. And I wish everyone the best of luck. But I just wanted to give my two cents that I believe everyone is putting WAY too much into this. Of course I could be wrong but I believe I know where a token is and I will soon be visiting this certin place. Plans are already in motion. And if I am correct which everything leads me to believe that I am, then it doesnt take near as much thought as what everyone is putting into it. Good Luck to everyone though!
