Treasure Clue, can you help?

pancho.... seems to me that perhaps you are a little too concerned with the "treasure." Yes, of course Iwould like to find one of them, do I realistically think it is going to happen...probably not. Seems more like you don't want others to disclose information that might allow someone else to get to that spider before YOU...which is perfectly fine.. just maybe you should say what you mean... ;)

also...COLLABORATIONS: If you have collaborated in your efforts with other persons, each of the finding participants must comply with all of the foregoing requirements and execute all of the required documents. Collaborators must also release Sponsor from any liability in connection with their agreement among one another, and if Sponsor incurs any costs or expenses, including legal expenses, in connection with collaborators' agreement, all collaborators agree to reimburse Sponsor for any and all such costs and expenses jointly and severally.

isn't posting on this message board collaborating? couldn't it be interpereted that by postin on here you collaborated with everyone else on here..whereas if one person posting is inelligible that would make everyone else ineligible... just wondering...

Hi all,

Just a couple of thoughts...

1. Gifts for first anniversary presents are "paper" (traditional) and clocks (modern).

2. On pg. 49 Zac says that "two perfectly matched halves would complete the top of Ana's jewel box". Anyway, I'm reading into it: top = lid or top = cap. in other words the two matching halves may be the "capper" for the problem. The item that holds everything together?

?Hi everyone,
Long time reader, first time to post. ?A couple of ideas, hopefully some one can contribute. ?I used the boxes that the faries pointed at to generate letters then used the letters to derive numbers (a=1, b=2...)Then used the numbers in the five by five box to generate zip codes. ?It did not matter if I started with columns or rows it turned out the same. ?One point no one has made is that in 5X5 box there are 24 possible combinations, not twelve. ?Consider the backwards numbers. I got ten good hits for zip codes! Great, plus the two zips posted in the drawings. ?Like we are all doing, I want to verify if I have a valid point. I generated random numbers with playing cards 1-26 and filled in three boxes of random zip codes. ?Well, ?I hate to say it but I got 8-12 hits on the random tries. ?So my idea is back to the drawing board.
? I would like to chime in a little expertise on the Lat -Long idea. ?The approximate range of Latitudes are from 25North to 50 north that is approx from the tip of southern Florida to Maine and 65 West to 125 west Longitude and this is approximately east coast to west coast. ?If you can get numbers to fall into this range great! ?To get close with a lat and longitude, ?the directions must be in a percentage of a degree. ?ie. 100.11. ?For example, with a point ?25 N by 35W This is a box with sixty miles to a side or 360 square miles. ?or 25.1 N by 35.1 W is a box six miles to a side or 36 square miles. ?25.12 N by 35.12 W is a box .6 miles to a side and is 3.6 square miles. ?This truly only applies at the equator but I think that the example gives the idea of how Lat and Long need to be found to keep the search narrowed. ?Otherwise a zip code could be a smaller area.

Carol,
I am confused as to what you are tracing. Are you tracing the obvious shapes (ie - Ana, darklings, etc.) and seeing what remains in the "unshaped" or uncolored areas? Would it then follow that you are seeing the bugs in the yellow areas of the page (page 77)? I am just trying to follow where the bugs are located. Thanks. Bonnie

Gonemad. ?I will convert your binary code to hexidecimal & see if i can make anything out of it on an ASCII chart. ?I'm going to try to add a 0 to the right hand side of each set because bytes are in sets of 8 (your numbers are in sets of 7)...
I'll letchya know if i come up with anything...

Hi guys, moops here. ?Yeah well, as I said again, I'm a "newbie". ?Well, yeah I guess like all of you I really want to find that treasure, not just for the money but it would be a great experience to actually go looking for it tonight. ?I've been reading LOTS of posts and the awesome clues that you guys found. ?After a while I realized that UR ALL GENIUSES! ?Darn it... now i know what I'm up against and the people that r fighting for the treasure like me. ?LOL. ?Just kidding, you guys could really help me with this. ;D ?I'm not sure, but it seems like a lot of you are a lot older than me (I'm not gonna reveal my age) and a lot smarter. ?Even though I am kinda stupid I have found some stuff. ?Well the five to a side code ?which i see is the main concern here in this website I thinik ?has something to do with the fairies holding up the letter at the beginning of each chapter. ?A few boxes through which the fairies are holding have five boxes on each ?side of the box. ?Could this be a copincidence? ?I dont think so. ?This matches the part of the book that talked about how Zac found a box that had smaller boxes inside. ?Five tp a side. ?I just can't figure out what all this means. ?Someone else posted this, but I'm not sure who, well, It saus that all you need to do is be able to read to find the exact location of the book. ?We don't have to be looking at anagrams, and these amazingly complicated clues. ?In my opinion. ?Theres something we're missing here. ?Something tells me that the key to all this is right in fron tof us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Im supposed to be doing hw now, so I"ll see if anyone's replied to me later. ?Bye

PS: ?I'm going to barnes and noble tonight. ?Michael Stadther is supposed to be there. ?We can ask him questions. ?Maybe if I ask him what five to a side is supposed to mean, then he wouldn't say no to a poor curious innocent kid like me right? :'( lol jk

Another idea could be to make him drunk and ask him where the jewels are. ?Right?????????????????? ? ?

Sorry guys...a translation to ASCII code gave me gibberish, ?the translations is:
@-Null-Space-Space-,-EOT-DEVCTL2-'- etc etc...i don't see what it could mean...but the numbers translated into decimal (what we humans use) is:

64-1-32-32-44-4-18-96-34-9-36-68-4-4-6-48-1-10-20-4 ?(if that's any help) ?:-\

Ron... ?

RonMN,

Man, you're FAST! I was about to post on that right before you got there! I put gonemad's code in last night, and got the same thing, although I think you did it in a more logical sense.

kstreasurehunter, yes , legally this site and others can be viewed as collaboration and if anyone on this site found a token then technically anyone on this site could file a lawsuit claiming a portion of the prize. It would then be up to the courts to decide if my one post about a tree was in any way relevant or used by the finding party in their discovery.

pancho,

perhaps you should read my post more thoroughly. I didn't say telling others to withhold info would enable youto find anything faster. The obvious implication in your post is that someone out there will see someone else's post, figure something out from it, and go find the token before you or the original poster.. couldn't the same be said for any of the posts on here that have given ideas or theories? Seems like kind of a moot point to me. I think people realize that by posting their theories someone else may be able to use them in their hunt... seems to be the point of this whole thing to me. is it really necessary to remind people of this? then again is it really worth my time to respond to this?.. probably not...

as far as the whole collaboaration thing... does anyone have any thoughts on this? seems like MS has allowed himself a lot of ways to deny someone their treasure...

i've been working with 'puters for over 20 years...it's getting to be that i can talk to them better than i can humans ;)

it sounded to me like MS just didn't want to get in the middle of somebody elses squabble (with the "collaberation" qualifier)...not his problem who gets half or a 3rd or whatever.

GAINES, when i started to trace on black & white it was because looking at the pics in the book were distracting. i tried different ways to block so this way was easy. i was really trying to see if i could some how find a way to bring what's INSIDE the pictures out . especially the background colors , background trees, etc. i was only hoping maybe i could pull out #'s or letters , which i have a few ,but was getting tired of it so i traced things in the pics that looked odd to me ,like the way ana is holding her arm that way, looks uncomfortable to me. the way her hair is drawn and those darklings. i kept thinking theres a reason he darkened some spots , lightened others ,and those wings. anyway, i was just playing around with it and thats when i found it. it took a few tries because when i looked at it the first time i realized what i had to trace and what not to. it really is time consuming . it was easier to see if you flip your copy over then it's against a white with nothing else to distract you. where i've found them is along each side of her body and hair. hopefully i'll post my pic soon, just waiting on sis .

could be.. i guess we can only hope right?

has the use of stereo-grams been discussed at all? My girlfriend mentioned this the other day and I was going through the pages looking for some.. I've found some interesting things, not sure what they mean, if anything..

On the crystalized Pook page...I'm noticing letters in the dark background all over the place...some letters are dark (just like MS 04) and some are white scratches in the background. so far i've only been able to make out individual letters but not form a coherant word(s)...

Anyone find it interesting that they are going to release another clue on April 1st according to ATT web site? I mean, is that just an April fools joke? If it is not a joke and they do release a clue then why do it on April Fools day which would just cause people to question it validity. I just find it odd, and I am not ready for another red herring.

tomaf, there is a bit of weariness I have with this new clue being released on April Fool's Day too. Still, he eventually revealed the solution to the "Hint: Tackle Repositorys". I think he would discourage and get a lot of people upset if he pulled an April Fool's Day joke on them. Then again, maybe it will be an AFD joke, and the manner of the jest is the actual clue!! :D

Hi, Trying to post a jpg but it 's too big. How do I make it small enough to post?

Thanks
Carol's lil sis
