Treasure Clue, can you help?

Okay Mates, here ya go...

?Call me crazy, which I'm sure a few will, 1. for hanging on to my "supposed" pee fixation, 2. for SHARING what i'm about to... I only wish i had the time and money to pursue this darn thing... Here goes- the clue we just got, here's how "I" broke it down. It's a large anagram with one exception- there is a blue number one, why??? Let's just say 1=A so we will make all the blue letters an A and anagram the rest of the whole thing. Also there are three letters that may or may not be an A, they are different from the only clear A you can see(that is blue), so lets say they could be a V or a Y(in my case they are two V's and one Y). Well after about an hour here's the anagram I come up with using that theory and according to my previous posts, IT'S PRETTY SCARRY... Ready??? here it is-

Im hidden in overt rest areas along the path in a very rare can.

I have my own solid idea of that path, which is no longer I-80, but i do have to leave something up to YOUR imagination...
Good Luck...

Black Beard- That was ingenious anagram- but there's one problem with your solution. "Im hidden in overt rest areas along the path in a very rare can" I counted 7 A's and you said that their are 2 V's and 1 Y, i recall. That equals 10 letters=10 squares. A rubic's cube has 9 squares to a side.

P.S. I haven't posted in a long time because I was on vacation in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Oh yeh, and can someone tell me what a red herring is?

Nice catch nole...

? I did it pretty quickly and will need to revise alittle, That was alot of letters to anagram...? but i don't understand your 9 to side thing- who said it had to be like a rubics cube, did i miss part of the clue? just because it would make a cube dosen't mean it was supposed to be one. I think maybe you meant i was adding those? No. There is a green, red, and orange letter that is really unclear that is part of the "nine" that i'm saying could be a V or a Y. Just askin' what say you???

Just another thought Nole...

? If i'm only 2 A's off, let's say my hint was the blue#1 and the only clear(blue A) to tell you that that the blues=A, thats 2 that were there for the hint and that would leave "seven" (is the key)? for you to use...

Black-Beard- Oh shoot my bad i forgot that the other color A's were included. Thanks for the correction.

Nole, welcome back! a red herring is a phrase . it just means something thrown in to throw you off.

OK- let the race begin- I have two words for you all- Lewis & Clark. Please take the info I've given you and visit http://www.lewis-clark.org/ and check out the cryptology link...? ?No Panch, I'm not related to them or pushing a web site, just check it out... I'm leaving at 5 this am to check mine out... Good Luck To All...

Hi all,
I've been working with the assumption that the new clue can be anagramed into other phrases. I have been trying to come up with different things, but I have developed an incredible migraine...so I am posting the different things I've come up with to see if you can somehow make something of them (if you want). At least maybe they might spark an idea for you. Some of them have the wording turned around because I was trying to get things to fit...but I just can't get my head to think anymore. The phrasing won't always be in correct order because I was working with word fit first before ordering them to make sense. Of course, now you have given me new phrases to try and build upon such as "open sight". I was using the phrase "THERE ARE NO INTENTIONAL RED HERRINGS POSTED IN MARCH NOT APRIL 1" . (I use all caps because it is easier to work with all the letters that way.) As a side note, I do wonder if we are only suppose to use the "THERE ARE NOT RED HERRINGS" part because of his saying her is the clue and the date. MS sure likes to use language that can be interpreted in various ways! Anyway...here are some phrase starts... (the letters above the phrase are the left over letters that still need to be fit into the phrase).

E ARE NO ENIONAL RD RR POED RH NO APRI

That's all. I know that when I read some of your posts sometimes I get an idea or an angle to work with...so I'm hoping that maybe I can help spark some brainstorming.

GEEZ,

New Clue really gave me a headache. :-\ but is sunny in Southern California.

Bonny Blue

I know that I am beating a dead horse here, but am I the only one who would feel better if the ATT site said that a token had been found? The fact that they say none have been "redeemed" just raises lots of red flags, like they are hiding the fact that some HAVE been found. According to the leagalese the finders may not be announced and the tokens cannot be officially redeemed until the end of the contest anyway! :P

NOXOC,

You state anagrams but your results contain in some cases more letters than you are starting with above them. How did you come up with these results? Did you use a cipher plus an anagram?

Noxoc:

I am totally lost as to how you came up with these phrases. They seem like good hints, but could you please explain? I know I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer......

Omni, i couldn't agree more would be even better if the location was told also so people with an idea would know at least wether to make a trip or not. would make me crazy if i knew where an exact location was, went there and couldn't find a token only to find out in 2007 my location was right but someone beat me to it. i don't think he would have to say how he hid it ( it may give the idea away for other tokens ) but at least give us the area . would sure save sanity and second guessing.

By the way we had a hunter here the other day, g man, wonder if he was successful.

Sorry to post again , but wanted to say that the new clue just shows everything ms does is intentional and he has put a lot of thought into everything. he said a new clue on 4-01 and i don't think he was just being nice to post it early. just trying to make a point that everything in the book has a purpose . and he more or less said that with the new clue. at least that's how i feel .

Does anyone know exactly when the latest clue was posted? Maybe it was April 1 somehwere at that time?

Carol, I thought I posted this earlier, but I don't see it anywhere. Thank you for those dark lines you posted. Like you say, everything has a meaning. Maybe with these it's "don't be afraid of the dark (lines)".

I think that posting it on April Fools Day did not improve the credibliity of his clue, so he posted it a day early.

LITDOC, makes sense to me . i was only thinking that it seemed he already had the clue awhile back when he posted that he would be posting a new clue on 4-01. it just seemed intentional, but you made a good point.
