Treasure Clue, can you help?

CM- I'm very sorry you took that the wrong way... That wasn't a slam on everybody else here, or anybody for that matter and this sight has been VERY helpful to myself and others. It just seems that since the original poem was posted, which helped me(i wasn't quite done with it when it posted), there really hasn't been any REAL progress. It just seems that most of the clues being worked on in here are the same ones and are ending up? going nowhere(which i think was Mike's intention), so please forgive me and others (Vic) for trying a new path... So once again I say- Bigones... There is no need to read between the lines in here, let's save it for the book- hey...

Just another thought I would like to share is that without an EXACT location (a safe tree or wherever)with lets say Lat & Long (or whatever) walking around the woods is not exactly the safest thing to be doing and Mike said he didn't want to put anyone in harms way. I say this cuz last weekend on a search in the forest i encountered a skunk under a stump that almost got me and then when jumping up to check a larger Knothole in a diff tree, i found myself face to face with a very startled and angry possum- almost took my nose off... it's just not the safest thing to be sticking your head or hands into dark knotholes unless you know it's the one...

Blackbeard , i think everyone here has worked hard at where we are and that i took what you said as negative to this forum. if that was not your intention i apologize . i think that pancho and litdoc do a fine job to try and keep us going on the path , but like i said if we new which way to go then we wouldn't be here we'd be out there in the woods . your idea was a good one about putting our hands in tree holes. i've always thought that that would not be safe. my mind was thinking of other things such as hornets nests , snakes , etc. so i think we should at least try and figure out another way he concealed these tokens . we do all seem to grasp somewhat his way of thinking on this hunt ,maybe we could figure out a way to hide something in a tree and not really hide it . it seems ms is very creative and thought long and hard on all this . let me know . any ideas . carol

Carol- I'm glad you understand that wasn't my intention at all... It just seems that any ideas that come up that are off the train of thought that's going on in here gets ka-boshed and put to the side only to go back to what (so far) have been dead ends. I am NOT bragging by any means but i thought my anagram of this last clue was pretty darn amazing considering the posts i've made prior to it and how it this clue fits. Since that post only one person has mentioned it (not that I'm looking for attention), cuz i'm not, but just the simple fact of my previous postings of overt rest areas and then to pull that out of the last clue... Just seems to me to be more than a coincidence... If no one else here agrees with me that is fine, i can take it... I only post here to see if someone on my train of thought will jump in help me out, but there is no need for all these negative postings on other peoples ideas. PEACE...

p.s.- we must also remember that there are thousands of people reading this stuff that never post or register, so although my ideas might not be taken the right way by people posting, i'm hoping they will be seen by someone willing to help me lock this thing down... GOOD LUCK TO ALL...

Blackbeard , i understand where you are coming from. my bugs didn't exactly get fanfare at first , but i persisted that they were in the illustrations . my only intention on the bugs was to show how layered this whole thing is . believe me i know how it feels to post and not get a response , but i do like most of what you have had to say and i like your way of thinking . i hope you don't get discouraged by the negative feedback i think it's important to look at all ways of thinking on this because we don't know what the right answer is . i jus twant to say that no matter what and no matter what anyone here thinks of any idea that we might throw out there, we eventually have to take what we gather and hunt our own hunt . i hope this makes sense . again sorry for the misunderstanding , carol

I totally agree with BB. Since uncovering the alphabetic clues, we have not made any real progress. There are layers of clues in the book, and I'm going to repost an earlier challenge, which no one has commented on. However, the lurkers who read but don't post might be moving in that direction (ahead of us).

"Is it time to explore the many coded messages that appear in nearly every full-page illustrations (usually in the borders)? For example, what message is encoded in the Celtic knots on pages 21-22? What message is encoded in the colored squares on page 31? What do the broken lines mean in the drop cap box in page 52? What about the edge of page 16? Why are the fairies in such odd postures in the border of page 36? Is page 52 a maze? We found the alphabetic clues (poem) and the hidden creatures rather quickly, but we have stalled a bit in recent weeks. The Companion book shows us a variety of ways MS has encoded the more specific clues."

I believe that until we decipher the next layer of clues in the illustrations, that physically going out to look for tokens is futile.

Litdoc , i do believe i have worked on and posted about pg 52. i tried a few times to get feedback from you on this . i looked into the possibility that this is a maze , but got no where on it . i figured that you also think there is a possibility that it is a maze then maybe you had some insight to help or have tried yourself to get something from that page . if you have ant ideas on these pages you are referring to i would like some help on it . again let me know , carol

In reference to pg 16. i had posted previous that i believe there is a second code in those trees . at the bottom of the page where the word AND in the poem is , in the tree next to the letter D i think is the letter Y or # 9 . i posted before on this , but recieved no response . what does anyone think . let me know . i also tried morse code on the blades of grass at the base of the trees , but really got nothing . i also had the idea that the trunks were roman numerals . i do see where another set of words can be found in the trees but again had no luck . litdoc or anyone who has played with these ideas as well let me know am open to suggestions .

As to the cocoon/butterfly and the doth/ dog idea i was thinking..........isnt there a cancoon Maine?????? (sry if i am wrong ima not really the geobee queen)

P.S. i know that we've talked about this before but isnt morose code a 'special' thingie?

LitDoc~ i noticed that the Celtic knots on pages 21-22 are more-or-less color coded which reminded me of the new clue.......and of pg. 63

Carol, I've been working on page 16 as well.. so far not a whole lot.. I'm not really seeing anything in the tree after the D. I'm wondering if the blades of grass mean anything.. I've also been working on this 5x5 box thing trying to match things up with page 31.. not much luck there either...

speaking of 5x5 boxes... anyone notice the numbers in the boxes on page 89.. the dream. I don't know if this has been posted or not but holding the page up to the light I can clearly see numbers in some of the boxes.. for example.. 1st box second row has a 2 in it.. there's a couple more that I can see.. but not all of them.. anyone else seen this?

hello everyone I am a newbie and hopefully am posting this right. Someone had a post about moon trees and a site for them. when I was checking out that site I came across what are referred to as half moon trees. does this ring a bell with anyone else? I recall a line saying....half but not whole"

Thanks
Terry

Just a thought....

"talking trees" makes me think of telephone poles,
and the "rope bridges" that link Zac and Ana's rooms might be the wires strung between the telephone poles.

Just a thought...

KSTREASURE, Thanks for replying . i'm glad you looked at the letter ?for me . i know i see something . you have good eyes . i just looked at pg. 86 you were talking about with the 5x5 box . i'm sorry i don't see anything , but that doesn't mean a thing . until this book i had perfect vision now i think i need an eye doctor . i will try to look at it more later if i see anything i'll let you know . i always thought that the blades of grass were maybe morse code , long ones dashes short - short ones dots . but didn't get nothing. let me know if you get anywhere i'll keep trying also . carol

Bigtd35 , what site did you find those half moon trees ? i also want to say ?WELCOME to our group !

Chloe , i also think the trees are talking as much as the fairies are talking to us. the trees on pages 29 , 76 , & 86 are all the same . was wondering if they would say anything if one image was put over the other or if anyone has tried this already . let me know . carol

CMSCHUT,

Right. I also noticed that the large tree on the left side of page 86 is the same as the large tree on page 20 except black faces have been added.

Chloe , you got me looking at trees again . did you ever notice the inside front cover , the black spots on the tree below ladybug are the shapes of the creatues. i don't remember if this has been mentioned before . if it has oooops .

PANCHO , if your keeping up with the posts .... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! i'm not sure when it is this week , but remembered you saying last week that is was sometime this week . my husband's is today so it reminded me . hope to hear from you soon .

Just noticed in the text on pg. 98 that when the mates are returning that the ant and butterfly are not listed.
Hmmmmm

Carol,

when you are looking at the tree after the D are you seeing the letter/number in the same way as the other letters on the page? I'm seeing them in sort of the negative space, that's how i was looking at the last tree and wasn't seeing anything real definite...

I'm not sure if it was page 86 with the 5x5 box, for some reason i thought it was 89, but it is the 5x5 box with the h in it and some of the boxes blacked out. The numbers are very faint. i was holding the page up to a light, and adjusting the angle of the lighting, I was actually doing this with several pages, when it caught my eye. it took a while to figure out if there really was something there, but after playing around with it for a while there is clearly a 2 in that 1st box 2nd row, when I say clearly I mean it is deliberate, centered in the box, it is a large number taking up most of the box.

There are other numbers in other boxes as well but they are difficult to make out, partly because they are just hard to see, partly because the h is partially blocking them. If anyone else sees these please respond...

KSTREASURE , i'm on my way to get more ink and paper. i will try and work a way to show you what i mean about what's after the D on pg 16 . also to get you to look again i don't believe it's an S before the A in and either . thanks for looking though . i'm also going to look at the other page 86 and will get back with you on that later. till then , carol. i know you're seeing something so i'll try and help .
